Using air-conduction, micro-processor technology, this hearing aid significantly amplifies ambient sounds. The MagniEar fits in either the left or right ear, and features a tiny volume control tab (a fingernail works best for adjusting it). Three soft tips in different sizes allow the user to choose the best fit. Extra batteries are included, with each one lasting approximately eight hours. For prolonged life, the battery can be removed when the aid is not in use, such as at bedtime. Wax build-up is prevented by cleaning the hearing aid daily with the included brush. A 3-by-3-by-1-inch hard case with padded interior conveniently stows all parts. Some users may need several weeks to adjust to using a hearing device; those who have acute or chronic dizziness or ear pain should not use the device.
