Wow! Imaginative and Original.,
By Denny Wayne "moviefan75" (Syracuse, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Angel Wars - Guardian Force 2 (DVD)
I loved episode one, but episode two is even better. It picks up where the first episode left off and we get to see some of the other angels on their missions and in high action. I can't say enough how great this series is - totally imaginative and completely original, the stories are well thoughtout, the characters are fun and interesting, and the designs are unlike anything i've ever seen before (think angels with a futuristic anime twist). The action is awesome and the positive underlying themes are strong, but are not rammed down your throat. Both kids and adults will enjoy this, and the adults will especially appreciate the craft put into telling this story that both engages, entertains and pushes stong values. We need more shows like this, not the unoriginal and dirivative garbage that we see popping up everywhere. I loved this show, and you will too. I can't wait to see more! When is the movie!?!

I bought them all at one time so I'll save myself some time and use this platform to speak for all of them at once. Angels messengers a movie, and angels 1, 2, and 3 episodes. Great series for the kids and for adults. If you are looking for something religious for the kids, that doesn't take them on a modern new age trip or new wave theology than this is okay. It never refer's to the Lord as God except when they say "God speed" coming or going, but you get use to it. The angels of heaven seem to have a hard time with each other at times, obviously to add to the drama but again it's okay, never too extreme. They don't get you or the kids talked into any unsound doctrine. Though they are pulling from the book of Ezekiel where Ezekiel see's angels and modern theology thinks he's seeing UFO's. So all the angels live on space ships, but, if you can get through that the rest is okay. really okay. I enjoy them very much despite the miss interpretation. Try them, if you are religious and are looking for something for the kids, these are good, I give you my word. God bless you all.

The Angel Wars series is entertaining and a very welcome Christian alternative for kids who like this kind of programming. They make the most sense when seen in order.

I am suprised by the previous review by "Mother of Three" who has never reviewed anything but 2 angel wars episodes, both of which she hated. Why did she bother buy two if she hated it so much? My two kids love this franchise, and i would be the first to call out something that seemed inappropriate. Granted my kids are a bit older than the Veggie Tales viewers; they are 8 and 10, and i was a little suprised it was a christian show the first time we watched it, partially because of the suprisingly good production, but when the moral lessons sparked talk about it in their youth group, the youth pastor asked me about it. After witnessing my kids' suprisingly mature discussions, i recognized that the show showed them that they themselved make a difference in a spiritual battle that goes own unseen by our mortal eyes every day - that our choices make a difference. While the messages are not overt, they are definitely there if you can read between the lines, as i believe it should be. My youngest loved it. I was glad to see they found something so positive that they actually found cool. We all can't wait to see episode 3. I had heard it was coming out this past fall, but i could not find it at Christmas in stores. I will keep my eyes peeled though.

I really wanted to like these, and unfortunately I bought all three. I'm a sci-fi buff, I love angels especially the Archangel St. Michael who is the leader in this series, and I'm always looking for something that will help my children embrace divine messages. I had hoped this would be a sort of sci-fi, teenage Veggie Tales. But that was not to be the case. I first watched this without my children. I thought it was awfully dark both visually and story wise, and I had trouble paying attention. Given that, I still decided to I let my children watch it. Granted, they are only 7 and 4 years old, but they didn't like it. When I tried to put it on a second time, they said "No, not angels!" Wow, that's not something I wanted to hear come out of their mouths.
