Book Description

A rejected lover and an ambivalent angel-in-training teach each other that love is possible when you find the right person.

Jessibelle Shay receives an invitation to the wedding of her old boyfriend and her used-to-be Best Friend. When she was dumped, Jessibelle’s pride forced her to pretend she didn’t care.

And now this. Now she is expected to carry on with the pretense, to wish them well, to smile for the cameras, and to pretend her life has moved on. She’s thinking it will take a miracle to get her through it, when she hears the crash of glass in her living room.

Her angel has arrived.

His mission is to accompany her to the wedding. And to prepare for it, she must complete three tasks . . .

(A 26,000 word novella – New Adult, Sweet Romance, Light Paranormal)

5.0 out of 5 stars I laughed, I cried, I loved it! December 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What would you do if your boyfriend dumped you for your best friend -- and then invited you to their wedding? A girl's gotta maintain her pride, right? But she sure can't do it alone. And that's where, in this sweet sentimental tale, the Angel Gabe (in-training) lands in Jessibelle's living room. This is a beautifully written novella with a heroine every woman can feel for, and a hero every woman would die for. Fortunately, this is a romance, so despite a totally unexpected twist towards the end, I don't think I'll spoil it for anyone if I say there is a happily ever after.

4.0 out of 5 stars A story of finding oneself December 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Jessi is a girl that most women can relate to in someway. After her boyfriend Rodney breaks up with her to date her best friend Hanna, as they've fallen in love, Jessi falls into a fog of unrequited love or so she believes. Upon receiving the wedding invitation for the couple, an angel Gave comes to help Jessi under the guise of preparing her for the wedding, but in reality aiding her in the path of self discovery. A perfect story when need of a light read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light, whimsical, enjoyable and heart warming December 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a really sweet novel. It is a coming into one's self type of book with a touch of romance. The main character Jessibelle is a really self effacing type who does not really know her worth. Gabe the angel character came to actually show this to her in a really gentle way. Her heart is broken when her shallow boyfriend drops her like a hot potato for her best friend. What she did not know is that he was not worth the effort. Of course a more critical reader would say that the other characters were too one dimensional but I say that this book was not about them but rather her personal growth as a person. Really sweet and enjoyable book (with a hint of sexual tension which remains just that).

It was a little on the romantic side for me but I should have expected that. The writing was good and the flow of the story kept things moving well.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT! December 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I wanted a sweet story during the Christmas season, and this was perfect. It isn't actually a Christmas story, but it could have been. It is short - Amazon says 87 pages - but it didn't feel short, just sweet. Jessibelle is still in love with her ex-boyfriend, who left her for her ex-best friend. Jessi is still in love with Rodney, but doesn't want him and Hanna to know that. When she receives an invitation to their wedding, she is devastated. Enter a hunk of an angel to help her cope - there are three things they must do to prepare her for the wedding. With Gabe's arrival, Jessi questions her sanity, especially since most people can't see or hear him, unless he wants them to. There are no real surprises here, but the story is so well written with so much care, that I couldn't stop. And there is a twist at the end, so that Jessi will most likely get her happily ever after.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing - a must read! December 11, 2013

I absolutely love this story!
It is so so different from most angel-human stories!
I loved the romantic touch without clingy, sexual activity, and between angel and human too!
It wonderfully portrayed, powerful relational connection, hope, confidence boosting,
impossibilities becoming possible, and finding love.
Suzanne Stengl, If I could I'd thank you over and over and over and over...
Great job!

More About the Author

When I was a child, I shared a bedroom with three of my younger sisters. I used to tell them stories to help them fall asleep. Sometimes, they fell asleep before the stories ended and, unaware, I would keep telling the story, until my mother called up the stairs. "Sue? They've gone to sleep." And then I would quietly finish the story in my head.

I didn't start writing down my stories until much later. In my last year of university, I collected all the reports from my Marketing Group and wrote up our study like a novel. My classmates liked it, and so did the prof.

Eventually, I found a little two-line invitation to a romance writers organization in the back of the Writers Guild magazine, and I showed up. I had found my people.

"Suzanne Stengl has a lovely voice with a subtle hint of humor." A.M. Westerling, author of THE COUNTESS' LUCKY CHARM

"Suzanne Stengl's descriptions and characters are really memorable." Amy Jo Fleming, author of DEATH AT BANDIT CREEK
