About the Author

Doreen Virtue is the author of Angels 101 and Healing with the Angels, among other works. She has appeared on Oprah, The View, Good Morning America, CNN, and other programs; and she also has a weekly call-in talk show on HayHouseRadio.com.   

Grant Virtue is a fifth-generation metaphysician who has studied candle magic and music theory throughout his life. He is the Education Administrator for Angel University, and he plays and records meditation music.

I was struck by how the vocal impressions on a graph are so different for positive and negative words.
I knew negative and positive words affect us differently but to see a visual difference on a instrument measuring audio frequency was amazing. I told my mom about this book and she told me something interesting. Paramahamsa Yoganananda apparently wrote on this subject when he was alive. Not sure of the book though.

I focus on the positive and do express the negative and say "cancel, clear, delete" as I find this spiritual technique very helpful. I also like the idea of canceling negative thoughts to reset a positive tone.
I don't deny my feelings as I read in another reviewer's post, just acknowledge and refocus on the positive to create the highest and best in my life. Another spiritual idea -that by focusing on good ideas or high vibrations, spiritual beings/celestial beings/angels, you create wonderful, loving, positive outcomes for yourself and others around you.
I have to say I am proof positive it works. I stopped worrying back in 2006 and noted a dramatic change. Things were easier and people were nicer. Nothing changed but my thinking and words. Thereafter, my life changed. I have noticed how positive words like affirmations make me feel stronger, vibrant and alive. Worry thoughts or negative thinking makes me down and lethargic. I recommend this book to people who want scientific proof that words have an impact on body's physical functioning." I recommended this book to my therapy clients who love that this was written.

I love this book!! What a beautiful gift for this holiday season. I intend to give it to multiple people. No one expects that people don't have some negative thoughts, feelings and use words to express them sometimes. The point is that when we choose to look at a glass as half empty instead of half full, it negatively impacts not only us, but others around us. This book serves as an excellent reminder and provides visual evidence of that. Thanks to Doreen and Grant!!

Very easy to implement the ideas in Doreen's book. It made me mindful of using postive words more often than negative words. And it was awesome to see the evidence.

First of all, I have to say that I love Doreen Virtue's books. This is yet another one that I am glad I purchased to add to my collection.

Angel Words is different from other books because it focuses on changing how you say, think, and write words. The graphic representations of the frequency of certain words clearly shows how certain words are positive and other ones are negative. Staying in the more positive frame of mind when it comes to words that you say, think, and write will help you to achieve those things you want rather than things you don't.

The personal stories included in the book were a good addition to show how when someone took a negative statement about their life, and turned it into something more positive actually changed their life.

It isn't a huge book, but it gets the point across in an easy to read manner. It is also in full color and has beautiful illustrations of angels that you'd find in a cemetery or other location that they'd be adorned at.

It has become clear to me that the ability to live a truly happy life comes from the inside out, not from the outside in.

Doreen Virtue and her son have shared a most wonderful gift in this book. They have clearly and articulately unlocked the power of the words we use, and how they shape the lives we live.

It is an incredibly easy read, and each new chapter takes you closer and closer to the life, love and happiness you desire. All that's left when the book is complete is your decision to implement the simple, profound and absolute truth they share into your daily life.

This book should be a "must read" for every single human being. Were it required reading in schools and in religious institutions each and every year, the joy and happiness created as a result would literally change the society we know and experience each day.

First, I believe in the power of words, from India and being Hindu means obviously you know or atleast heard of Vedas, while few people know the very word Veda means Word in Sanskrit, when you take the length, breadth and depth of Hinduism and something which contains the whole of Hinduism was named Veda shows the power of words, coming to this book, I saw an offer on Hay's birthday and got three books from their publishing, thinking I would find something new, honestly I have to admit I haven't completed the book, it is too obvious and boring, you might get surprised and enjoy this book on the power of positive words, if you haven't heard of Law of Attraction from many books, most popular being Secret and Hay books, otherwise stay away it's just another rehash of this popular albeit powerful concept. The visual evidence part is rather silly, it is just wave form representation of sound basically found in any sound editing software, if you try it I did, it boils down on how you pronounce and the tone that decides, practically you will not differentiate among differet words particularly among positive or negative, to me the graphics in the book particularly the positive one seems copy-paste work, still you can bring the difference by the way of pronouncing which will not be true representation. Thinking about negative word representation in this book, which explains negative words are constricted and pointing kind of stinging, I don't think so I feel negative words too should have equal or sometimes even more energy, particularly those curse words to inflict damage and not constricted and not always.... So, finally, my conclusion would be, if you are new to law of attraction then get original and popular materials on the subject like from author Hay or even Secret, book if you are aware of existing stuff and wants to know more about positivity and the power of words you will not find anything new or useful in this book.
