5.0 out of 5 stars Worth A Listen !
I picked up this CD solely on the strength of 'Always Getting Over You', which got alot of airplay around the time American Pie 2 was in theatres. Now I find I can not stop listening to this great disc! 3.0 out of 5 stars Jessica Simpson....yeah.
I heard "Always Getting Over You" and I could have sworn it was Jessica Simpson. So I go to yahoo.com and search the title, and it says Angela Ammons. I consider for a few minutes that perhaps Jessica has a new alias.

It's really uncanny how much they sound alike. She has a good voice, the only difference is Jessica has more of a range. But when Jessica's in her...

I picked up this CD solely on the strength of 'Always Getting Over You', which got alot of airplay around the time American Pie 2 was in theatres. Now I find I can not stop listening to this great disc! When I first heard Angela Ammons, she reminded me alot of Jessica Simpson, and here and there I still hear a line or a phrases that sound remarkably similar, but listening to this CD in its entirety straightens things out. This is not standard Top40 'bubble gum pop'. This girl has a voice. While Jessica is a lot more breathy and tends to lean toward the Christina Aguilera/Mariah Carey vocal acrobatics, Ms. Ammons flat out sings from the heart. The ballads are sweet and dreamy and the more upbeat tracks are sure to have you tapping your feet. This is a great find, and I hope we hear a lot more from this talented lady. She's definately one to watch out for!

I couldn't have said it better myself!

"This singer -- Angela Ammons -- is fabulous. I truly believe she needs a better publicist to get her name and her sound out there. She is just as awesome as Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne etc. making today's pop/rock #1 billboard hits. I hope she'll be doing more albums in the future."

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album.... Fresh sound, September 25, 2001
By
This review is from: Angela Ammons (Audio CD)
Angela Ammons' voice is fresh, rich, and assured - a combination not common in today's assembly-line pop acts. Her music is a graceful blend of pop and rock that provides both emotional ballads and a mixture of danceable tunes.

Angela has a remarkable voice and impressive song-writing skills. The CD's first single, "Big Girl," is a catchy song and should strike a chord with all teenagers. Other songs, such as "When It Doesn't Matter" (featured in the movie "Save the Last Dance") show the multiple layers of her music and the wisdom of her lyrics.

This album is great to just relax and listen to the whole thing. It's great to relax and listen to the entire album. Her voice is beautiful. She deserves more publicity, which hopefully she'll get because she's working on a new album! I love you Angela =) ~Jenny

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, only and completed, December 3, 2002

It's a perfect album. ALL the songs are great. It is romantic but not boring, there are rock, pop, a bit of dance. Angela Ammons is better than Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Natalie Imbruglia, Vanessa Carlton, Lindsay and so on. I'm Brazilian and I'm so sad because there isn't Angela Ammons' CD here. So you, enjoy this oportunity, because you won't regret!!!

this cd is amazing, Angela had released it since 2001 and it had been a total hit on my opinion, there are clubs around there supporting angela, her voice is strong and sweet at the same time, she will be launching her next CD on spring 2006! , my best songs on this album are:

*** Echo: No comments about but it's a good song!

***** broken: it talks about how hard it feels when somebody dumps you, her voice is really sweet and it takes you to a moment of ectasy

*** Take my hand: talks about the strenght that somebody else could give to you.

**** This is Who I am: Angela really is focussed about what she is and i love her whisperings when she is singing within good and sweet pronunciation, very lovable to the ears so it talks about the importance about being ourselves.

*****Pretend: People here can go wrong and confuse Angela with Jessica Simpson and they're totally confused, she has her own vocals and on my opinion Angela can keep the tones better than her.

*****Walking Backwards: I love it

*****You'll be gone: Again somebody could confuse Angela with another singer on this song, it talks about the meaning of good communication and compromise inside a relationship or at least a friendship, we need to speak what we feel, ah the difference with Angela and other singers is that she could decrease her voice in an instant without loosing balance, amazing.

*****Someday Soon: A balad , definitively, nothing last forever, but love can do it.

Always getting over you: very rythmical and stimulating like Angela say by herself on the song, amazing song!

**** When It doesn't matter: how many times have you tried to beg to one person to let you back again? , well this songs talks about that, it's a good one.

*****Big Girl: First it sounds like a vinyl disk starting to play, good effect, then it turns to be a totally enjoyable song, Angela is a big girl there's no doubt, for what she does, this is the one of the songs on this album.

Best rating: Pretend, Walking backwards, You'll be gone , someday soon, Big Girl

Next Cd coming spring 2006! , you should buy this CD!!

5.0 out of 5 stars enormous talent, July 10, 2002
This review is from: Angela Ammons (Audio CD)
What a fantastic singer who needs some well-deserved publicity. Ammons' vocals are easy on the ears, complementing the soothing melodies on her self-titled debut album. Many of the tracks sound similar, but I don't think that is due to a fear of experimenting -- instead, it is a modest way of allowing her talent to shine through -- and it does. The perfect "sit-back-and-relax" album.
