Editorial Reviews

Xavier Samuel of "Twilight Saga's Eclipse" fame, is an actor's actor as he portrays Will. Rhiannon Owen gives a stellar performance as Angela, as both take you along on an emotional rollercoaster. Their performances and this story will resonate with you long after the credits of this multiple award-winning film roll.

Living in the middle of Australia's desolate landscape, Angela has been waiting all her life.

Waiting for her boyfriend to return from the army and marry her, waiting for her mother to sober up, waiting for her life to begin.

On the return of her boyfriend Will, Angela sees her bleak surroundings and her friends, with their own desperate lives, with new eyes. She realizes that she cannot spend the rest of her life in a small town with no future.

As Will prepares to return to the army and her mother prepares to move in with yet another man, Angela makes a decision that will change her life forever.

Directed by Mat King (Aust), produced by Kate Croser (Aust) & written by Gena Ellis (USA), ANGELA'S DECISION has crossed global boundaries in its making.

With a script originally set in small town Oklahoma, King moved the setting to small town Australia. With all original music composed and recorded in Spain and the UK, by Christopher Slaski and singer/song writer Liam Gerner, the finished film has come full circle making its way back to the U.S. for its release.

"Angela's Decision" is beautiful. Aaron Gully's cinematography captures the Australian landscape in a way that communicates the oppressive nature of the wide-open country. It resonates in the same manner as any scene from the plains of the Midwest in the United States. Characters deal directly with the concepts of "out there" and "here" in a layered drama about what those concepts and their realities entail. So when it comes to the "here" of Angela's character, we are given a arrestingly detailed look at the moments defining her daily life in a place where elsewhere is an option over the horizon. Beautifully written and acted appropriate subtlety, this film instates itself immediately as a classic depiction of life where "here" is seems very far from everything else.

I really enjoyed the movie. I just wish it was longer and wanted to know what Angela did after she enlisted. Did she ditch her bf finally?

They cast this film well. And, the ending has a bit of a surprise to it. I also enjoyed the locale -- a small town somewhere in Australia.
