Detects Slightest Movements with Sensor Pad

The Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor senses your baby's slightest movements and sounds an alarm if no movement is detected for 20 seconds. The monitor uses a sensor pad that you can secure underneath most standard crib mattresses. You can adjust the pad's sensitivity level with a dial on the back of the nursery unit to suit your needs.

Indicator "Tics" When Detecting Movement

The Movement and Sound Monitor features an optional "tic" indicator. In the on position, this indicator will flash green and make a ticking sound whenever it detects your baby's movement. In the off position, only a green light will flash with movement.

Monitor Transmits Sound up to 820 Feet

The Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor allows parents and caregivers to listen to their child's sounds. Whether you choose continuous sound monitoring or the voice-activated option, the Movement and Sound Monitor offers a range of up to 820. The "out of range" indicator lets you know when connection is lost between parent and nursery unit.

Battery Option with Power Failure Backup

The monitor's nursery unit can be plugged in with the AC adapter or run on four AAA batteries (not included). The parent unit uses four NIMH rechargeable batteries (included) and can be recharged on its stand. In case of power failure, the two units will automatically switch to battery power, and a handy low-battery indicator lets you know when it's time to charge or replace the batteries.

Eight months ago today, my wife gave birth to an amazing baby boy. This is our first child and as such, it's been very stressful. Are we doing things right? Why in the world is he crying? Why does it seem more milk is coming out of him then went in him? What's that smell?

We've been using the Angelcare monitor since day one and it has been the single best child-related purchase we've made so far. It's the one thing that has actually relieved a little stress on us as parents. We're all aware of SIDS and how scary it is to think about. A simple sound monitor won't help you sleep any easier. A video monitor won't either. But, when you know that an alarm will sound if your child stops breathing/moving, then you have some peace of mind. If that should ever happen, would you be able to even make a difference? Could you revive your child? I hope I don't have to answer that question, but at least with the Angelcare monitor I feel like I have a fighting chance.

We did not have a single false alarm until around 6-7 months. The alarm went off, and we proceeded to freak out. The manual says that false alarms can be caused by really deep sleep. Our boy was starting to sleep better and I think this was the case, because even the alarm hadn't woke him up when we arrived on scene (our craziness did wake him up though). We chalked it up to a fluke. It happened again a week or so later and that's when we upped the sensitivity on the nursery unit. We haven't had a false alarm since.

In this day and age, it's rare that something actually works the way it's supposed to. Hence the reason I'm so impressed with this monitor. The sound is clear. The range is good (our room is downstairs and the baby's is up). The charge on the parent's unit can last a couple of days without being charged.... The night light is a nice bonus. This is the best item that we have purchased since we had our baby! Last week, our 6 week old baby was asleep in the crib. We have never had the alarm go off.. ever.. but it did one night. My husband and I were in the living room, heard the alarm, went to her room.. and our baby was laying in the crib, and really pale. I freaked out, grabbed her arm and called her name and she did not react. I picked her up and I heard her gasp for air. We took her to the hospital, and they ran extensive tests. It did not happen again in the hospital, and it has not happened again since we have been home.. but I am so relieved that we had this mattress sensor. If it had not of gone off and alerted us of her not breathing, who knows what would have happened.
Please buy this for your baby.. you will not regret it!

I am a first time mom and paranoid of all the dangers for an infant. I am terrified of SIDS. I couldn't sleep at night because I was waking every 20 minutes to check on my baby. One night when I checked on her, she was breathing so shallow I couldn't feel her tummy rise. I thought she had stopped breathing I panicked and shook her torso; she jumped and started to cry because I had scared her. After that she slept in my bed, but again I didn't sleep because I was afraid of her wiggling under me. I couldn't keep doing this to myself or my daughter. I didn't even know they made a monitor like this until I was desperately trying to find anything that monitors breathing on Amazon. After I received the monitor, I can finally sleep again and my daughter is happy sleeping in her crib without me freaking out and waking her up.

The pad goes under the crib mattress and plugs into the main base monitor. The base monitor plugs into an outlet and blinks to show that there is breathing/any movement in the crib. It can detect the slightest movement. The listening monitor has a base that recharges itself, so I leave that part plugged into an outlet next to my night stand. The listening monitor can be set to also go off to wake me her my daughters room get too hot or too cold (you set the temperatures), and if I take the monitor too far out of range. If the main base monitor does not detect any movement for 20 seconds it will beep loud (like a fire alarm) in her room and my monitor in my room will also beep loudly and vibrate.

I did have a false alarm once. My daughter had wiggled herself all the way to the corner of her crib. Everything was fine though. I'd rather have false alarms like that then to not be woken at all....

Another great feature that this product has is on the listening monitor there is a little swigging ball. This shows that there is movement/breathing movement in her crib. I like this because sometimes I still wake up, but I can be reassured by just looking at the movement on my screen. I highly recommend this product! Thank you to whoever invented it. Read more ›

My wife and I used angel care for all three of our children. For my first child who is now 6, the alarm went off only twice in the 4 years we used it on him, and both times he was not breathing. When he went in for his first shots, he had an allergic reaction to the shots. My mother in law even said that he was breathing funny. We realized that his breathing was not normal. We just took this as him being sick with nothing out of normal. That night the alarm went off. we went into his room and he was not breathing. When we shook him, he started gasping for air. About an hour later it went off again and we did the same thing, shook him. He again gasp for air. That was the only time it went off on him, when he had an allergic reaction to the shots he received earlier that day. We bought a second angel care for my daughter when she was born. Her machine kept going off approximately 10 times a night. We thought the machine was broken. We checked the sensitivity level and it was all working fine when we checked it out. We had a plywood under the mattress as it recommended. After about a week of the machine going off more than several times a night, we took her to her pediatrician. We told him about angel care and how it kept going off. He said I am a doctor, there is no such machine that senses if a baby is breathing or not. I would know if there were such a machine. He said for our peace of mind, he will have her checked up at Saint Peters burg children hospital. My wife and daughter stayed overnight at the hospital. At the hospital, they found out that my daughter was actually stop breathing approximately 7 to 10 times a night. She had severe acid reflux apnea. Once her doctor got the results back, he said whatever machine you have her on, please keep her on it.... He prescribed her some medicine and said she will eventually out grow the sleep apnea. She has. As she gotten older her machine went off less and less to the point where it never went off. Now for my 3rd child, we bought a third angel care since we were still using the machine for all of our children. It has never went off for my third child and he is now 2 years of age. I highly recommend it to everyone. It definitely is a peace of mind. My sister in law lost her nephew when he stop breathing during his nap time. Since then she has gotten this for her new baby.
