4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting album from an extremely interesting group, August 18, 1999

Why And Also The Trees have never been able to make it to America I don't know, because their music is some of the most beautiful and complex out there. Anyone who enjoys the music of the Cure, Depeche Mode, or the Church will be very pleased with AATT. Searching out their hard-to-find imports is very rewarding though and 'Angelfish' is no exception to a long list of great releases. To those familiar with their work, this album will come across a little differently. Instead of the dark forests and lonely towns conjured up in their previous efforts, Angelfish leaves you with the feeling that you're listening to some apocalyptic lounge music. The bass thumps and the guitar twangs in familiar AATT fashion, but the songs, a good mix of vocal & instrumental tracks, work in a very modern setting with an eye towards the everyday tragedies of modern life. They may be working with a different feel, but the album is still AATT in every aspect. This album was my introduction to them and I'd be happy to give it to any of my friends for a listen to this great, and very overlooked, band.
