5.0 out of 5 stars Another Stunning Book, February 17, 2008
By
This review is from: Angelfishes of the World (Oceanographic Series) (Oceanographic Seies) (Hardcover)
To put it simply, I ordered this book on a whim, recommended from a fellow marine aquarist, and since then I haven't been able to put it down. I have never seen a more comprehensive and affordable review of Saltwater Angelfish, including many images of extremely rare species and hybrids. The images of Angelfish Aquariums maintained by aquarists in Asia is a unique section that really makes you think about how we keep our own aquariums. The only section I found lacking was the section which covered the current captive rearing of marine angelfish - I believe the author could have done more in-depth research, especially into the farm-raised Pomacanthus currently being produced in Asia.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Visual reference, January 11, 2009
By
This review is from: Angelfishes of the World (Oceanographic Series) (Oceanographic Seies) (Hardcover)
I found the book exceptional in its identification of species and juvenile pictures however it lacked valuable information in the breeding and rearing of Angelfish.

I would have been most interested to read more on those topics.

Good for the hobbyist that has no interest in Breeding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing angelfish book, November 3, 2008
This review is from: Angelfishes of the World (Oceanographic Series) (Oceanographic Seies) (Hardcover)
Amazing book. Excellent photography of both the more commom angels and the rarer, difficult or impossible to find in a LFS, ones. Basic info on fish and aquarium husbandry, not a fault, IMO, as most people with special interest on angels may already have aquariuns for some time and read other general set-up and maintance books. Well worth the money.
