This book was nothing but news clips put together. Obviously, Jolie would not give an interview. So the writer relied on the easy way out: basic research on what's been written before in newspapers, tabloids etc.

Loved this!!! Great pictures and great insight into a wonderful person's world. Being a fan I had heard most of the stories from Angelina interviews in the past, but there were some things that surprised me. It also offered a lot of information on her marriages and why they didn't work out.

I've read only a few biographies and most are of historical figures like George Patton. This is probably only the third I've read of a celebrity. I don't know if other celebrity biographies are like this but I am use to a lot more source notations. Much of the information seems to be anecdotal from unknown sources. Even the the bibliography at the end of the book only references a small fraction of the sources I usually see listed in other biographies. I was very surprised that most of the direct quotes were not cited with only a few referencing certain interviews. Overall, it is a decent read. I would recommend reading it if you are a fan of Jolie since it is a short book. I've always found her to be a fascinating person and it was interesting to see her struggle with her self esteem and how she was able to overcome her insecurity issues by helping others and become a very compassionate person that does a lot of good for the unfortunate people in the world. It does have some interesting information such as her live in boyfriend when she was only sixteen, her passion for knives, and seeing more details on her personal relationships. One more comment I will make is that the author does not transition the time lines very well. I like the way the author put the chapters as the major milestones in her life such as her marriages and major movies, but within each chapter, it becomes confusing because she does not notate many dates. She will mention months sometimes but not years and she will jump around quite a bit. I believe to make certain events more compelling. So if you are a fan of Angelina, it will be worth reading but everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt since most of the information is not cited.

I bought this book as my Christmas present to myself and I was not disappointed. I couldn't put the book down. Very well written and well-rounded. I feel like I know Angelina now as if I'd grown up with her. I respect and love her even more after reading this book. She literally transformed herself and morphed into the amazing woman she is now. This book is a must for all Angelina Jolie fans everywhere.

I liked this because it enlightened me to her past and how she is different from everyone else. Right from the beginning.
