5.0 out of 5 stars Best Angelina Book Yet, September 24, 2001

This review is from: Angelina's Halloween (Angelina Ballerina) (Hardcover)
I bought this book for my 2 1/2 year old daughter a week ago. She has requested it at nap time, and bed time, and in between, every day. She can now say most of the words along with me! At first I was worried that she would be scared, but she loves every bit of it. I love how Angelina handles her little sister in all the situations from being angry to being scared. It reminds me of my own older sister. I love the story and the illustrations and would recommend this book to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very cute!, February 13, 2002
This review is from: Angelina's Halloween (Angelina Ballerina) (Hardcover)
In this next book in the Angelina Ballerina series, Angelina and her friend Alice design beautiful Halloween costumes for themselves. However, Angelina begins to find her little sister's tagging along behind her, trying to copy her, quite tiring. But trouble arrives later in the evening, and Angelina learns another lesson.

Once again, this book continues the tradition of excellence set by the other books. Katherine Holabird's writing is interesting and entertaining, while Helen Craig's illustrations just add so much more icing onto the cake. My daughter loves this series, and, frankly, so do I. We both recommend this book to you.

4.0 out of 5 stars cute little Halloween book, May 6, 2002
This review is from: Angelina's Halloween (Angelina Ballerina) (Hardcover)
Angelina's Halloween is a nice Halloween book for 3-, 4-, and 5-year olds, with just the right mix of scariness and other Halloween fun.

Angelina is very annoyed that her little sister insists on tagging along beside (or behind) her wherever they go, but she handles her little sister in several different ways, all of them good. The story includes trick-or-treating, a Halloween parade, and other Halloween traditions also.

The illustrations are like those in the other Angelina books: nicely drawn, cutesy, and cluttered with images. There's a lot to see on each page. Often my son just likes to explore the illustrations, naming the items on each page, and asking questions.

Angelina's Halloween is one of many good Halloween storytime (or bedtime) books for preschool aged children. I recommend it.

This was the annual Halloween book for our three year old granddaughter. She thoroughly enjoyed the book. So much so, I read it three times in a row. You cannot get a better stamp of approval than from a three year old.

Angelina books appeared after my children were Preschoolers so they are a new experience for me. I purchased Angelina's Halloween for my three year old grandaughter. I think I had to read it twelve time to her. She poured over the pictures and studied the costumes very carefully. I think her poor mom had to change her plans for her costume! Great art. Good story. Fun

5.0 out of 5 stars This is our favorite in the series!, April 24, 2009
My 4-year-old loves Halloween and when we actually read this book quite often. In "Angelina's Halloween", Angelina and her best friend Alice prepare for Halloween by thinking up costumes and such, and Angelina's little sister Polly desperately wants her sister's attention, becoming predictably annoying in the process. The kids go off trick or treating at night, with Polly tagging along as a little ghost whilst Angelina and Alice go as fireflies. In the confusion of going from house to house, Angelina loses Polly, but the siblings finally find each other. This particular book appeals to my little one as she loves the gorgeous full-color illustrations that pop off the pages in all their vibrant hues. The details are simply amazing, and I too feel this is one of the most beautifully illustrated in the series. I highly recommend the Angelina series to preschoolers and up.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!, November 5, 2007

Angelina's Halloween is an excellent book. Good story, and OUTSTANDING pictures. So bright and colorful. All our children love it. They pay attention to when this book is read. When looking at the pictures, it has a cozy feeling and a warm feeling. Also, all of the Angelina books are outstanding and it's worth to have as a little library of Angelina books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trick-or-Treat with Angelina Ballerina!, October 9, 2007
"For Halloween, Angelina and her friend Alice make glorious firefly costumes--complete with delicate wings and tiaras. Angelina's little sister, Polly, wants to be a pretty firefly, too. But Angelina thinks she's too little. Polly settles for dressing up as a ghost and, on Halloween night, gives Angelina a surprise scare!" -- From the back cover

This sumptuous book features a sweet story, thick pages, and endearing illustrations with soft colors. At 24-pages and a bit larger than most softcover children books, Angelina's Halloween is a wonderful story celebrating the Halloween season.

We have quite a few Halloween books and, quite frankly, this is my FAVORITE book that I love to read to my son (and love having read to ME!). Delightful for adults and youngsters alike, Angelina's Halloween will be especially treasured by fans of the TV series on PBS Kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a sweet book!, October 18, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Angelina's Halloween (Angelina Ballerina) (Hardcover)
My 3 year old daughter just loves this book. This is the sixth evening in a row that she's chosen it for her bedtime story. The story is sweet and the illustrations are wonderful. We spend extra time talking about the pictures on each page. We recommend it highly! I plan to purchase additional Angelina books as Christmas presents.
