4.0 out of 5 stars solid hard rock, March 30, 2007
By Derek Tatum "Derek" (Tennessee, USA) - See all my reviews
First off, ignore the "goth metal" description. While some of their past albums have dipped into gothic rock, this isn't one of them. What we have here is a good album that sounds like an updated spin on the kind of hard rock songs that ruled the charts during the early to mid-1980's - and that's not something to be ashamed of. A common reference point on this album is the Sunset Strip rock sound, before that scene went downhill with overbearing power ballads and wannabe bluessmiths. Fans of L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Motley Crue and the like would do well to check this out. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars ANGELS...you've got a race to race?, March 9, 2007
This album is sweet. But don't expect it to change the world. It is a real good rock album, and nothing more. It's much less epic than Devils for the most part. Partly due to the mix not using even close to as much reverb on...well everything. It sounds much more intimate as a result, hence the lack of epicness. This in no way detracts from the album though and seems to fit the "lighter" Angel theme. Also, the guitars are now carrying the main melody, unlike the previous albums where the keyboards played the main melodic lines with guitars chugging along beneath. That's not to say there's no keyboard however. There is lots and lots of it, but used in a more ambient way. Also many strings are used to good effect, including a guest appearance by Apocalyptica on "GHOST." A great album for old and new fans alike, but I would also definitely pick up Devils as the two albums really do go hand in hand. Hell just buy everything by them from Blessed Be on up (at the very least!!) if you are new to the 69 eyes. -END RAMBLE-

2.0 out of 5 stars Let down
After Devils, I was higly let down with this cd. Nothing jumps out at you, it kind of just blends one boring song into the other.
