This review is from: From the Angel's Blackboard: The Best of Fulton J. Sheen (Paperback)
Bishop Fulton Sheen has written a beautiful collection of thoughts while explaining the rubrics of Christianity. He has long been recognized as eminent in his ability to teach and explain things religious. In this book he sequentially tackles issue after issue using simple analogies to make sense out of the teachings of Scripture. He also explains many hows and whys of the Catholic church.

Bishop Sheen perhaps most importantly makes one think through an enlightening and revealing process which is what attracts me most. I highly reccommend this wonderful book.

I read this book in the church chapel library and was very impressed. Impressed enough to order it on-line for the benefit of others that may want to read it. Unfortunately, the seller had already given it away but forgot to remove it from her seller list. I was quite young when Bishop Fulton J. Sheen had his TV program in the 50's. My parents never missed the TV show, and as I recall, I probably didn't either. He was a very learned man. I think the world could use more TV programs like it. Even if you're not a Catholic, you will find this book very inspiring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Treasure, February 8, 2008
This review is from: From the Angel's Blackboard: The Best of Fulton J. Sheen (Paperback)
Fulton J. Sheen's work is a treasure; eye-opening, insightful, timeless and prophetic. From the Angel's Blackboard helps us to understand our human condition and God's great love for his flawed creatures in making us his sons and daughters. The Angels almost certainly had a hand in this book!

Selections from the 1950's books and television series, Life is Worth Living. Sheen addresses such topics as work, happiness, melancholy, fatigue, and death. He urges readers to seek happiness by trusting God and doing what is right, illustrating his points with anecdotes from life and literature. This is a very good compilation and worth ready.
