Book Description

November 1, 2004
This unique collection of more than 160 photos contains special images of an erotic, magical world, a world of imagination, probably already familiar to us from our secret fantasies. Angel’s Delight takes as its subject fantasy, and contains photographic visions by nine top photographers. Breathtakingly beautiful models appear to have grown angel’s wings, while other pictures bring to mind figures from Greek myths. Still others remind us of elves, creatures of the Amazon, or inhabitants of lost and forgotten worlds. Always the focus of attention are the beautiful women.

This review is from: Angel's Delight: Erotic Phantasy Photography (Hardcover)
Although not quite what I expected, this book was far from being a disappointment. It is not solely focused on women dressed as angels, it is mainly an erotic Fantasy Photography book. 9 photographers from North-central europe are featured, with more than 10 photographs from each. Styles differ, from body-painting (for a comic-book effect) to completely photoshopped settings and landscapes, to a contortionist/dancer - but always the theme remains, the female in ways you probably have not seen before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected.., August 2, 2007
.. but so much more!

I don't like all of the works in this gallery, some even make me skip pages, but it doesn't matter. The idea behind these pictures is still very strong and everyone has a different taste, so why not. But still, the book is so much more than I expected. The photos are all really impressive works of art. Some need alot of time untill you can get the whole idea, others are just gorgeous with a touch of some kind of sweet fetish.

I totally recommend this to nude photography lovers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Varied and sensual, November 12, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This lush book collects ten artists' photographic works, loosely based on the theme of "angels." Given that classic and common theme, it's amazing how many modern and unique visions these artists present.

The collection starts with Leroy Roper's gorgeously body-painted models, often set against fantasy backdrops. Martin Boelt's work follows. His first piece creates stark contrast to Ropers: matted hair and mud-caked skin, after Roper's elegant adornments. He presents chain-mail costumes, too, where metal geometries set off the model's organic curves, but also echo the steely strength of the woman inside. O'Byrne's fantastic composites follow, then others in other styles: fantasy/fetish, formal figure studies, illusions of more than human grace, and monumental statements of human athletic power.

Concept never elbows out the photographers' basic search for beauty. Irrespective of setting or props, the model herself always comes through as the image's real focus. Perhaps these photos won't challenge the viewer; perhaps the "angels" theme gets stretched rather far a few times. No matter, this remains an enjoyable and varied collection.
