Entertaining Angels,
By
This review is from: Angels in Our Midst: Encounters with Heavenly Messengers from the Bible to Helen Steiner Rice and Billy Graham (Paperback)
This book is an amazing compilation of stories of people's experiences with God and angels. What most Christians don't realize (although they acknowledge it) is that angels still roam this earth. They're walking down the street, just like everyone else, blending in, but on a mission from God. This book shows that angels truly do exist, and that they're amongst us when we least expect it. Besides it's amazing illustrations these individual stories entrap the reader into realizing that their guardian angel is with them NOW, helping them through life, making sure they don't fall.. and appreciating them for their lifelong devotion. I thank Guideposts for their remarkable books and their amazing website that helps me through my Christian walk every day. In conclusion, be weary of how you treat others, because you might be entertaining angels.

Mysterious Glimpses of the Spirit World,
By
This review is from: Angels in Our Midst (Hardcover)
The purpose of this book seems to have been that which other editors have had, i.e., to collect real life stories of experiences with angels. That's the way the book starts. I assume there must have been some difficulty finding enough information because while that's the way the book starts, there seems to be a lot of "filler" material elsewhere.
The middle section of the book provides a teaching on angels in the Bible, which is appropriate. This is common on other books I've read on this subject. The weakest part is the final section, which takes about good deeds people have done, equating them with "angels" in a very loose translation of the word, i.e., that they are messengers of God. In terms of content, only the first section really gives instances of mysterious, possible angel sightings in modern times. On the positive side, it's better to be limited in content than to exaggerate.

I purchased this book for a friend who just found out she has leukemia and the prognosis is not good. I perused some of the book and thought it would be uplifting for her. I don't know what her opinion is since I haven't heard from her yet.
