4.0 out of 5 stars Another great single collection from WT

2.0 out of 5 stars Big drawback
The songs are wonderful, but there is no official CD with this tracklisting. Pirated, most likely. I'd rather people didn't buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great single collection from WT, November 1, 2010

This is the third version of the Angels single from Within Temptation's third studio album, The Silent Force. The star of the single is title songs "Angels," my favorite rock song from The Silent Force. "Angels" is a heavy, powerful, yet angsty song that captures serious (and sometimes dangerous) emotions perfectly and channels them into a wonderfully dramatic piece of music that pulls listeners in and won't let them go. It's the perfect sing-along song, though, I admit, perfect for angry break-ups (or double crossing romantic relationship). Overall though, another wonderfully dramatic and compelling song from WT.

Another odd entry on the single is "The Other Half (of Me)" from WT's early EP The Dance. I'm not sure why exactly it was included here since it's a much older song and has a distinctly different sound than "Angels." Though it's also a little angry, it has much longer instrumental sections, fewer lyrics, and, of course, the male growls that WT dropped from their music by Mother Earth. Sharon's vocal abilities have also improved since "The Other Half (of Me)" was recorded, so newer WT fans may find this song jarring and unexpected.

That's also a live version of "Dangerous Mind," which shows off Sharon's live vocal abilities and is a fun addition to any WT collector's library. The orchestral version of "Aquarius" is a welcome surprise. For me, this took a generally boring and fairly unlikable song and pumps some much-needed life into it. I've also not seen this version of "Aquarius" on any other WT release, so pick it up when you can.

4.0 out of 5 stars Writing about music, not weather or not it was pirated..., July 1, 2006
This review is from: Angels Pt.3 (Audio CD)
Reviews should be written based on the music, not on weather or not it is pirated material. Ahem. Great music composition, orchestra meets a touch of metal with a dash of classical singing. The frontwoman has a remarkably powerful, yet soft voice. Buy it if you like bands such as Nightwish, Leaves eyes, Lacuna Coil, ect. Rock on-
