Wonderful !,

I loved this CD. My mom loved angels and I scuba-dived with dolphins once and it was magical. My mom passed away suddenly at 57 yrs old. During the funeral, we decided to play this music as a background and everybody thought it was soothing and comforting. It brought us peace and now when I listen to the CD, it reminds me of my mom. It is a lovely music CD and I recommend it to everybody.

A Journey Under the Sea,
By ManOfPrecision "Tony" (Lowers Bucks County, Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews

When I first listened to Angels of the Sea, I thought, wow this is truly an extraordinary cd. The first song, title and track Angels of the Sea, can speak for most of the tracks. Sounds of waves softly breaking first feels like you're standing at the shore. As the song progresses, the song changes somewhat into the ambient category. Then, it feels you're swimming deep under the sea. The instrumental music sets a sentimental mood, relaxing you, freeing you from the stress of everyday life.

The CD that I received was brand new in the package. The timing that it took for me to receive it was fast maybe 2-3 days. I am satisfied with this purchase. I was not able to find this CD by going to the store. This was one of those hard to find CD's. Last but not least the price was terrific. I will continue to ship AMAZON.COM.

This Nature/Music CD is the best I have ever listened too. I have many different kinds of these recordings...however, this one tops them all. The way the Music interacts with the nature sounds is superb. Well done!

A much-needed underwater getaway,

You don't need to know how to swim to enjoy John Herberman's Angels Of The Sea (1995), not to be confused with the artist's 1998 release, In The Midst Of Angels, which is equally as enchanting. Yes, there are angels of the heights and of the depths!
I adore dolphins. They are one of my favorite of all of Terra Mater's children. These spiritual animals are absolutely divine, and very intelligent, as was shown in 1973's The Day Of The Dolphin, a movie starring George C. Scott and his wife Trish Van Devere, in which the protagonist teaches a few of these cuddly sea creatures how to communicate in our own language. According to the CD's liner notes, penned by Michelle Brodey and Gordon Gibson, we learn that dolphins lack vocal chords and possess microscopic ears; that they communicate with each other through touch and whistling. Also interesting is that dolphins can express a variety of human-like emotions, from joy to melancholia. From their forehead, these heavenly aquatic beings emit clicking sounds, and are innately endowed with sonar. Fascinating! The dolphin recordings were provided by the Marine Mammal Fund, whose objective it is, is to the seeing to the preservation of these organic constellations. Bamboo flutes, the clarinet, cello, piano, and an instrument called the shakuhachi all make an aural appearance on Angels Of The Sea (8 tracks; 53:50). The title track exudes a mystical aura (you can almost feel the wafting seaspray caressing against your cheeks), and I especially love the steamy electric guitar notes that chime in at the tail end of the song, notes which are also featured on track 5 as well. We come up briefly for air with track 2, considering we hear - hey, isn't that twittering? Hmm. Those must be water birds! You can definitely hear some seagulls, which are always a relaxing sound. Island Lagoon is particularly ear-catching: innocently playful and felicitating. Here the dolphins come up close and we get to pet their beak-like snouts. Come and be carried along by, if not the the dolphins, the foamy spillers way off-shore. Hold your breath for we're about to go underwater and down into the ultramarine coral reefs, as pretty as a skyful of sparkling seashells. Just close your eyes and bring along your imagination. That's all you need!

I heard selections from this CD on my favorite New Age TV music stations. One day I realized that I had to track this CD down if I was to regularly receive the benefits
of this lovely music in my meditations. I'm so glad to have found it.
