Boring, Repetetive, Made-for-TV Movie Theme Music,
By M. Schreiber "TV-free, Battery-operated-toy-s... (TinyTown, Minnesota) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Angel's Touch (Audio CD)
If it doesn't bother you to listen to the same maudlin, overly sentimental musical phrase over and over and over and over and over again, ad infinitem, by all means, purchase this album and enjoy. Be forwarned, *both* songs on this album contain the aforementioned same musical phrase. You may find yourself wondering if your CD player is just stuck. The music is reminiscent of the soundtrack to a made-for-tv movie in which a young mother dies of cancer in the autumn, leaving behind her mourning husband and two small children - just WAY too sentimental, "sweeping" and "sweet" sounding to be taken seriously. If you are looking for pleasant listening music and are into musical minimalism, try some Eno, Glass or Arvo Part. There are composers out there who are doing FAR more interesting things with the technique of repetition. Don't waste your money on Aeoliah. |
