Precious songs with a pain and beauty., October 29, 2008
I knew him very recently and soon charmed by his songs. He "beats" each key of piano with whole body,Very Impressive voice with earnestness,I was so impressed a kind of feeling I never felt, and, waiting his next step, this e.p.
till now, most of his songs I listened was sang with his piano only. this time, with all great arrangement, all songs are still keeping original version's acute sence, and also excellent.
I recommend to listen whole e.p.These 5 songs are like a wave, feeling them once was, great pleasure for me.and,I like Angelsundercover the most,so painful, and also.so beautiful.Only one thing I feel about his age is,he has long way to go.I am looking for to see how he continue his journey. His first one step in major scene is so great.
--(I couldn't buy MP3 here,cause I am International customer.but already I could ordered directly from Warner bros.)

The EP is a Triumph, November 4, 2008
Josiah Leming draws you into his world with his heartfelt lyrics and haunting melodies. Buy the whole EP -- you won't be disappointed! All five of the songs on his debut EP are great; it would be hard to choose a favorite.
1. Arctic Outcry Wind - This song captures the heady impatience and impulsivity of youth wrapped up in a catchy tune that you can't get out of your head: "I feel emotional, irrational, unbreakable, impossible to please ..."
2. Angels Undercover - This is a song that will haunt you. It's an intensively personal, yet somehow universal, glimpse into the world of his youth: "Take me to the church where my father and my mother / prayed for me and my dear brother / while the angels, undercover, cursed our names ..."
3. TheySay - Beginning with a desperation to get out "this town", it ends on a triumphantly defiant note: "I was thinkin' about movin' west / or getting lost in a wilderness ..."
4. This Cigar - This is the anthem of a young man: "In all my efforts I've committed treason / For chasing dreams that are changing like the seasons ..."
5. To Run - Here's a bittersweet look at the end of a relationship: "My voice was all she heard / Sentences filled with empty words ..."

Mature, aggressive, and all together refreshing, January 20, 2009
This EP is only a taste of what will most likely be one of the top Alternative albums of 09. Josiah Leming has the passion to carry himself into musical greatness. From the moment I heard him singing on American Idol, I along with thousands of other people knew that he had natural talent. My only concern was if whether or not he had enough maturity to handle success. That is yet to be seen, as his first album has yet to be released. As long as this wonderfully talent kid from Tennessee can keep his head on the level, he is bound for success.
The lyrical beauty in his songs, mixed in with passionate vocals adds up to reveal an EP and most definitely an album worthy of awards. Hopefully when his album is released later this year, critics and people around the world will recognize this great talent.
