This book is a touching story of friendship and miracles.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Angels Watching Over Me (Paperback)
This book has a very touching story. When Leah goes to the hospital with a broken finger, and the doctors want to have more tests done. That's where the suspension starts. It also tells even if you look different, or believe in a different religion, ( in Rebekah, Charity, and Ethan's case) ( they are Amish) that they can still be your true friends. I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes a little bit of suspension, and miralces. Miracles with friendship and angels.

Angels Watching Over Me,
This review is from: Angels Watching Over Me (Paperback)
The first and the best book in the trilogy of Leah and Ethan. Sixteen-year old Leah is hospitalized with nothing more wrong with her then a broken finger. Her mother, who has never really seemed to care for her, is away on a honeymoon with her new husband, Neil. Leah feels lonely, but is kept company by the family of her Amish roomate, Rebekah. Rebekah's older brother and sister, Charity and Ethan. As this magical and touching story unfolds they begin to become good friends and Leah learns more about the Amish way of life and their belief in God and angels. Leah also becomes attracted to Ethan. Then she recieves terrifying news about her medicial condition. As Leah tries to deal with the news, her friends are always there for he. It had a wonderful ending but which seemed a little rushed. This book could definetly have done with beng a few chapters longer. But still a great read, though the rest of the trilogy is a let-down.

Lowry has a rival...,

This review is from: Angels Watching Over Me (Paperback)
When I first took this book off the shelf, I just wanted to get extra credit in class for reading a lot of extra pages. I found out soon after I had entered something more. I knew cancer was a very bad disease, before I read this book, but I after I had read this I had a whole new perspective on life. McDaniel's work is incredible and I will continue to read every one of her books, I now have another favorite author next to JRR Tolkien and Lois Lowry. My greatest thanks to author Lurlene McDaniel for such a beautiful piece that has touched so many. Unfortunately... I must critisize the approach for some of the scenes...something that was supposed to come as such as shock was so obvious to predict that it didn't have half as much impact on the reader.

Angel Trio,
This review is from: Angels Watching Over Me (Paperback)
I have read all three books, but am mainly going to write about the first one. These three books are about a teenage girl, Leah, who becomes friends with an Amish family. She meets the Longachre family while she is in the hospital over her winter break when little Rebekah is put in with a nasty spider bite and Leah is unsure about what is wrong with her. The Longachres' become Leah's second family while she is hospitalized due to the fact that her mother and her mother's fifth husband are on their honeymoon in Japan. Leah falls instantly for the oldest son, Ethan, and he feels the same way for her. They both have to hide the way they fell for each other when his family is around and after little Rebekah leaves and they must write to each other. I loved this book! It really touched me personally because I know how it is when a family member is in the hospital and how it feels to like someone when the two of you really should not like each other. The book also tells how Leah feels in every situation that she is put in from her diagnosis, which I will not give away, to her feeling for Ethan. Read all three books. They get better and better with each page!
