Nothing speaks so loudly as silence,
By A Customer
This review is from: And the Angels Were Silent (Paperback)
Rev. Lucado speaks volumes from the pages of this powerful work in a manner that transcends any denominational differences between Max and his readers. Through vivid illustration after vivid illustration he guides us through the final days of the Savior giving Christ the human touch that some may even fear to teach or to ponder. Even though the title is accurate that the angels were silent, their silence has allowed the echoes of the thunderous ovation of love heard as the nails were driven at Golgotha for each of us. My only drawback is that the book is so hard to put down, that you finish it in just a couple of days and find yourself disappointed wanting more. But, then again every Lucado book I have read does the same thing!

An amazing insight on our Lord's final week,
By A Customer
This review is from: And the Angels Were Silent (Chronicles of the Cross) (Hardcover)
I am writing this because I want others to know His healing touch. This book gave me a diffrent angle to look Jesus' final week and how what He did and said tell us the message He was sent to bring. Max Lucado knows what he is saying and how to explain it so that we who are not theologens can read and understand and weep with that knowledge. Please read this book, because we all need that insight.

The Message behind the Message,
By BDinah@aol.com (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: And the Angels Were Silent (Paperback)
In his always thought provoking style, Max Lucado once again helps the reader have an encounter with the Almighty. He brings to life the final week of Jesus in a fresh, unique way that causes the reader's heart to break, mend, and break again. The timeless Truths of Jesus aren't embellished, because they do not require embellishment.Instead, they are told in ways that nearly everyone can relate to, but Lucado still manages to help the reader hold on to that ethereal feeling of a "one on one" encounter with the Author of the universe. A Must Read!
