In this special issue, anger is viewed from a psychopathological point of view. Psychopathology has an ambiguous, though strategic position in anger. On the one hand, it acknowledges the human discourse on anger, its meaning and its anthropological reason, and on the other, it is in charge of establishing valid and reliable procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of dysphoric states. Articles deal with the meaning of anger in human beings, the cultural differences in its conceptualization and the adaptive function of rage in animals, as well as discussion of the philosophical concept of anger, demonstrating that psychopathology is really applied philosophy.
