I couldn't disagree more with the unnamed reviewer on this site. ANGIE is one of Goldsmith's most charming efforts. It's a rewarding purchase for the main title alone, a gorgeous romantic melody, reminiscent of the PAPILLON theme, featuring accordion and strings. The ANGIE score is polite, elegant, heartfelt and entirely deserving of a serious listen. True, it's not RAMBO or STAR TREK or PLANET OF THE APES or CHINATOWN, but it wasn't intended to be like any of these. It was intended to be gentle, sweet and touching. What is wrong with that? The only weak point in it is the Massenet track, "Meditation", which for dramatic purpose wanders away from the original composition mid-way through. Yes, it would have been wonderful to have that piece in its original shape, but I'll manage somehow.
When this disc can be had for two or three dollars, it would be a terrible mistake for any fan of Jerry Goldsmith to overlook it due to some glib and uninformative comment.

Jerry Goldsmith's music fits perfectly with the theme of the movie. Unfortunately, this is not always a good thing to have happen. This is one of those times.
