The card holder works well; the slot is just the right size. You do need to have plenty of light from behind, unless you use one hand to tilt the whole card holder up. The design could be improved a bit if the whole card holder tilted back just enough to let more light onto the cards. Think about how you naturally hold cards in your hand -- tilted back some, for better light.

My main complaint is with the workmanship. There are chips on some in the set we got -- should have been sold as "seconds" -- and it wouldn't have taken much to sand the card holders more. They're pretty roughly made.

After using these card holders for a while, we added felt pads along the bottom of the front edge. Press-apply pads that are 0.5 x 4 inches -- two per card holder -- tilt the card holders back just enough to make it easier to see the cards. This improves the design a lot, and the felt pads aren't expensive.

So if you're willing to add the felt strips and put up with functional but imperfect workmanship, I'd rate these a 4 rather than my original 3 stars.

I bought this one because it is made in America. It is kind of clumsey to use and has a very rough finish. I dont like the way it feels. Like very rough sand paper all over. I have done a lot of wood finishing and I know this is just very poorly done. like something you made in shop class when you were a kid and got a c minus for it.

Got this item so that my friends dad, who had a stroke could play Uno with his grandkids. He is able to set up & play his cards one handed, plus the grandkids love not having to try to fan a large number of cards to see what is in their hand. Have also used them to play Hand & Foot, which can involve a large number of cards. Would recommend them for anyone whether you need help holding your cards or not. Have a lot of card playing friends that may just find these under their Christmas tree.

I purchased these mainly for my son who at 5 struggles to hold cards during card games. These playing card holders work very well, and we all used them while playing Uno! My parents and son were able to use them very easily - and the cards are kept from each other's eyes at a round table quite easily. KUDOS - great sturdy useful product!!

These wooden cardholders are sturdy and graceful in appearance. The curve holds cards so they are not visible to players at your sides. They may have trouble holding all cards if you play canasta and pick up a large stack, but most of the time they are perfect!

I purchased this card holder for my seniors who play pinochle and often have difficulty holding a lot of playing cards in their hands. Angie's Playing Card Holder looked to be the part of what I was looking. I ordered the holder, and it came in surprisingly fast. The holder is very durable and will provide many hours of fun while not straining the players hands. I recommend this product to anyone who needs a little help. Now they can concentrate on the game rather than on the cards slipping from their hands.

My mother is an avid card player and she fell and broke her right arm. She could not hold her cards and I remembered seeing an advertisement for this card holder. It did a great job and my mother was able to play her favorite game while her arm was broken. It was a set of 4 holders and my grandson likes to play cards and sometimes he would have more cards than his small hands could hold. The card holder was a great help to him also. I was very happy with the purchase.

# one..I was charged $9.95 for shipping and shipping label was for $7.53..They know flat rate rates for the poundage,,It was wrong to overcharge for something they do all the time
#2 The card holder just fits 13 cards for canasta..If you pick the deck..there is no room to put the cards..
But
On the other hand..the card holders are made very nice ..they don't seem to fall over and if you aren't playing a card game where you have a lot of cards it is well worth it
