Scope works well. It is almost like having a mini-porthole in your door.
I can see all the way across the street with it. Resolution is not crystal clear, but quite good. From the outside you can't see in with any resolution, but you can notice a slight change in light or color if someone comes closer to the door to look out.

Comments:

It sticks out about an inch from the inside of my standard door. So it is a bit intrusive for lack of a better word.

The finish looks like it is spray painted on. With a little care, you can probably spray paint the ABS to match your inside, and with a little more care, your outside door colors.

The shaft is just a tad over 2-1/4, so with a half moon file to size the thin metal on your metal door (mine had a core of styrofoam), you might be able to use that size drill bit, if you have one already. Might even be a nicer snug fit. If you have wood door, you might try to wobble the drill a bit to see if you can get it to fit. I would try this first on a 2x4.

It IS plastic. If I had to do it again, I think I would get the metal model for just a few bucks more.

My second one. The one I had before was metal. This one is abs plastic. The optical on this one is somewhat mis-aligned. I have blind spots on my front porch.

Although this item seems HUGE when it arrives, it's been a great safety feature for our home. My young teenage boys never look through our traiditional peephole before opening the door. No matter how many times I've warned them. Because of it's size, and the clarity of the screen, you can't help but see who's outside before you open the door. The inside screen is about 2" in diameter so it's not necessary to put your eye right up to it to see the person outside. I highly recommend this item.

Great product for seeing outside easily. Would recommend for everyone. Install was straightforward and a breeze. Just follow the directions and it will come out looking nice.

Get rid of your puny, eye-right-up-next-to-it peephole and get this one! It's terrific! And everyone who comes over is blown away by it!

Great love it. My kids can see through it with having to get close to the door.

I love this viewfinder. All my friends see it and get "peep hole" envy. My only problem is that I have two front doors and only bought one.

Also, the image you see is like a mirror image (left/right reversed) it won't matter when looking for people. Be aware that you won't find a 3/8" hole drill in most kits, I had to purchase it separate for twenty bucks at lowes. I'd buy it again and may.

Works great on standard door but not on thick door. Can see from 7 feet . It is a wonder for wheelchair.

I saw these at the store for 40 bucks plastic, 80 bucks pop-metal. This was a great buy, we've had it over 2 years now & it's still very cool! & Very functional!

Really love this peephole and the wide shot it gives. You can also stand back several feet while looking who is at your door. Instructions were a bit convuluted and did not like the fact that the diagram sticker is very hard to remove from the door. Overall~~good product
