I know they call this a Jenga Death Star, but to me that just feels wrong because Jenga to me means wood and these are plastic. I don't understand why the Jenga name is on this at all. However, that doesn't mean it's not fun. I was as concerned with this as I was with the Angry Birds Star Wars Fighter Pods AT AT Attack because it looked like a lot of pieces and a lot of work (not only putting it together, but retrieving all the pieces from where they get blasted to).

Happily, it wasn't as hard as I thought. My son and I easily snap together the two main pieces of the death star while snapping in the "arch", and then slide in the 'key', which is a thick 'setup card'. It has the diagram right on the background so you just put each plastic piece (pieces are numbered and so is the diagram) right in on top of its picture. Most of the pieces are "1" (small) and "2" (large) pieces, except for the ones that have raised detail for the eyes and nose. Once you've stacked them all and put the piggies in there, you just stick the whole thing in the stand and remove the board (carefully!).

It comes with an X-wing launcher that looks like it has a slingshot sticking out of the top. On the launcher is a little peg that you slide the figures onto, which makes it much easier to pull back and fire the figures at the death star. I'm pretty good at it, but my son is awful, which is why it's good that this is marked 8+. I just don't think you have very much control when younger. He uses big Chewbacca and gets right up close.

It can usually withstand more than one hit, which makes it more fun.

Ok my son will be 6 in March, he likes playing angry birds on my phone or tablet sometimes. This toy is D-U-M-B. Having said that my son has made me or his mom play this with him about 100 times and we've only had the thing for 6 days. Everyday he wants to play it, so it's getting 5 stars, yeah the death star is hard to destroy for him, and if you don't play in front of a wall you'r chasing down the bird after every shot, but the kid loves to play it, and that is the purpose of a toy, so it's 5 stars for me. I wish I would have waited until Christmas to get it, because it would have been his favorite toy at Christmas for sure....so now I am looking at getting the AT-AT one for Christmas just so I can feel like I got him the right thing! lol

I don't think I have ever seen a kid so excited for a present as the 1st grader who received this was. My daughter came home telling me her friend, whom we bought it for, loved Angry Bird and Star Wars. So I thought this would be perfect. Little did I know the levels of unbridled joy this would bring the small boy as he ripped back the paper.

Never before has someone been this pumped to get Jenga, a game I had forgotten even existed. If you have a child, especially of the male persuasion, who enjoys Angry Birds and Star Wars on their own, get them this. Watch their head nearly burst with the force of their happiness to finally have the two combined at last.

Some might accuse me of being sarcastic, or making more out of this that I should be. To them, I say: you weren't there. You didn't witness it.

All my kids have enjoyed this toy. Not just playing with it, but putting it together. It's well made and easy enough for even my 5 year old to assemble to play with. It's fun for a child to use alone or in pairs. The box is sturdy for storage, which is always a plus for toys with multiple pieces. So glad I purchased!

Nice product.
My son likes it but it's a bit difficult to build and even more difficult to destroy.
The big bird (Chewbacca) is tricky to throw (a little to heavy).
Still a good toy.

For the life of me, I can't understand all of the 5-star ratings. My son received this game for his birthday. You "build" the game, then try to knock it down by launching Star War characters at what you have built. Three problems: first and foremost, the process of building the game (which you must do every round after you knock it down) is PAINSTAKING. As an adult, it takes a very careful, precise and steady hand to build. Children have a huge problem building it. The second problem is that the game says it is for children 8 and older. If a child is 8, he might possibly be interested interested in this game for a few days, 9 doubtful, 10 no way. And the third problem is that any child who has every played the video version of this game would in not way shape or form be interested in this. Guaranteed this game will be something they open, play with a few times and forget.

the reason i gave durable a 3 is because the backing should not be cardboard. Once that tears or rips game is useless

Fun & easy to put together. Perfect for my son who loved to build things up & destroy them. He really has fun with this game. I did too! My only concern is the guide that you use to slide in the back to make Death Star is made out of cardboard. I can see this wearing out over time. But very entertaining game nonetheless.
