5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!
I got this CD because a family friend is the drummer. The first song I heard was THE MILKSHAKE SONG which I really liked. I got my friends hooked on listening to it and then they wanted the entire CD. They still keep pestering me since I forgot a few. Each song has a different vibe. I love SCARED OF HIGHWAYS and STRETCH ARMSTRONG. All in all, this CD is amazing and I...

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT UP TO EXPECTATIONS
I first heard Angry Salad at one of my fraternity parties in Boston seven years ago. Many of the songs on this album were mainstays of the band's sets, and were the reason we invited them back every semester for the next three years. I tell you this because I was a fan and friend of the band, sharing many a drink with Bob and Hale, and to legitimize my review of this...

But the CD is still awesome so buy it; you'll be listening to it non-stop!

5.0 out of 5 stars An unbelievable sound!, April 10, 2002

While I'm not a huge fan of the name of their band (which has since disbanded and reformed as Star64), they have one of the best sounds I've heard in a long, long time. The music is very catchy with an excellent sound and a pop/rock feel, without the sap of the pop music of today. I've had their album for years and I still can listen to it from start to finish. When I play it for my friends they all perk up with interest at the music, regardless of their genre preference. It really does have a sound for everyone without being so mainstream and preachy like many stars of today. In fact, I met the band and they were all just regular guys, even letting some of the guys from our college up on stage to sing a few songs with them...very cool people.

Buy this CD and I guarantee you'll love it! There's no doubt.

Angry Salad is one of the best bands on the market now. They have a unique sound and send a great message through their music. Also, they are four of the nicest guys you will ever meet (including their tour manager). ...

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasing, familiar sounds, October 25, 1999

This review is from: Angry Salad (Audio CD)
On a visit to Portland ME, I bought Angry Salad on a suggestion from a relative. The CD is a good one. It's not an entirely new sound, but it makes good listening all the same. Good voice, good style. Thought it might be heavier, but the opening of The Milkshake Song could be on Dawson's Creek. I've not heard any other stuff by them, but I think it could be something to look forward to.

5.0 out of 5 stars An "It's About Time" CD, June 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Angry Salad (Audio CD)
Remember when you used to buy CDs that would stay in your stereo for infinite weeks? Not in a while? Well this is it. "Saturday Girl" and "Coming to Grips" are 2 of the best songs I've heard since the breakthrough singles of U2 and Counting Crows. Even their sound makes you think U2, The Cult, and Metallica joined forces with Oasis and Third Eye Blind to produce something different, something big, something better. It's hard to pinpoint, but you'll know it when you hear it. Every song offers just a different enough flavor to keep you hooked, over and over again. If you buy one disc this summer, buy this one.

I love this cd so much, it is amazing and every song is worth listening to until you cant get it out of your head. Like the guinea pig EP this cd is very similar and great. These guys really know what they are doing and the whole cd I can play over and over again. I really really think that you should listen to the clips to make sure that you want to buy this but if you like the guinea pig EP then you will like this.

Angry salad is a great local band. They are originally from Boston, and it was a sad day that blackbird dropped them from the label, and they went their separate ways. Several have formed other bands. I fell in love with my cd almost five years ago, and I haven't stopped listening to it yet. It has a good mix of rock, with a few softer songs, and one decent cover. I would definitely recommend this cd to anyone who is looking for something a little different.

4.0 out of 5 stars great rocking roots album, July 15, 2001
This review is from: Angry Salad (Audio CD)
Angry Salad's self title cd is very much worth getting. They have a great sound, which for me brought to mind two favorites, The Vigilantes of Love and Counting Crows. While some of the songs have a basic message, some are quite deep and impressive (ie-Red Clouds:indians or How Does It Feel too Kill: the Kent State killings in the 70's). The lyrics ring honest and true and never overly trite or cliched. The vocals definitely bring to mind comparisons to Bill Mallonnee (VOL) and Adam Duritz (Crows). This cd is a bargain at amy price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, February 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Angry Salad (Audio CD)
I met these guys on New Year's Eve 2001 in Boston -- not only are they great live performers, but they are amazing people to meet. They have an extremely small following and remember the names of their die-hard fans at concerts. The music, although not a completely new sound, is catchy and keeps you coming back for more. My copy of the cd sits permanently in my player and I never get sick of it. A great music choice that all should try.
