And One, the popular synth-pop band from Germany, formed in 1989 after Chris Ruiz and Steve Naghavi met in a Berlin disco. They were both fans of Belgian EBM music, so they decided to play together, using only a drum machine and two keyboards, like their musical idols Depeche Mode had. Working together they compiled a demo tape that producer Jor, who was planning on starting a sub-label off of ... Read more in Amazon's And One Store

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful By Christopher Vaughn on February 5, 2003
Format: Audio CD
Their first release and the most dated soundwise. It's full of "Nitzer Ebbish" bangs and clatter (not a terrible thing!), and Steve Nagavi's vocals were naive at best. Good for the time. It's impressive to fumble through their catalog of releases (7 plus albums and a plethora of singles and ep's). To listen to And One is to enjoy pop/ebm/industrial/techno/darkwave all woven into a neat little package and produced for your pleasure. My recommendation is I.S.T., FLOP!, or SPOT for first listeners, though for completists this album has it's fine points.
