Angus is fat, dorky and smart, a kid with an uncool pal and a crush on a cheerleader. Angus is funny, rowdy and triumphant, a totally cool movie with a dead-on eye.

We should try and get more people to want this movie have an official release, and I bet there are lots of people.

Until they give a worthy attempt at a release, I'd recommend finding an old VHS copy or downloading it from the internet (you'll find it if you search for it).

Damn, Warner Brothers, what were you thinking? This DVD release is awful. Yeah, it's a DVD-R and you can't expect much, but this is just the borderline minimum. Plus, no remastering was done for this amazing movie, which it deserves. Please make an official release Warner Brothers!

But anyway, onto the actually movie. Angus is a highly underrated movie from 1995 starring Charlie Talbert as an adolescent teen who has a crush on a girl played by Ariana Richards. He wants her really badly, but whats stopping him is that one, she has a boyfriend and two, the boyfriend hates Angus' guts and always bags him. I won't give much more away, because in my opinion, it ruins the ending.

You need to watch this film. It's a film to see before you die in my opinion. And it's got a great soundtrack! It's got bands like Green Day (my personal favourite band of all time)and Weezer.

I love what this movie tries to say for teenagers who don't really fit in because of their weight, looks or interests. It says that no matter what you look like or what your personality is like, your time will eventually come and good things will eventually happen. As I'm 14 and I fit into the category of not fitting in at school, this movie is a really big inspiration for me.

Overall, this movie is really inspirational, but the DVD could be a million times better. We should try and get more people to want this movie have an official release, and I bet there are lots of people.

I don't understand what Warner Brothers is thinking. I have many issues with this release.
(1) It's basically "homemade," consisting of no more than a simple DVD conversion with no remastering.
(2) They want to charge over $20 for a DVD-R, which is burned on demand.
(3) Look at the cover of this release; look at the woman that Angus is hugging!!! THAT woman isn't even in the film!!!! His mother was played by Kathy Bates, and not the woman on the cover. Perhaps this was an early cast photo, and Kathy Bates ended up with the role later? Who knows?

What is certain is that this release is definitely not worth buying. Until they give a worthy attempt at a release, I'd recommend finding an old VHS copy or downloading it from the internet (you'll find it if you search for it).

Just to let folks know, you can actually get this $5 cheaper at the Warner Brothers website. There are plenty of great things at Amazon to buy, but let's be mindful shoppers, shall we?

Hey Warner Bros! Can we have a REAL release of this movie please? Your cheaply produced overpriced DVD-R (The R is for ripoff) doesn't cut it.

There are many underdog movies out there but this movie is just too sweet. Glad someone took the time to see that this made it past someones desk and onto the big screen.

I absolutely LOVE this movie! It has a little bit of everything...its hilarious, its emotional, it has a message that no matter what you look like, you can have your one moment that you've dreamed of. Angus is by no means a popular kid, but he knows what he's good at...science, football,..and breaking the nose of the egotistical, self-rightous jerk (James Van der beek) who is constantly giving him a hard time. Chris Owen plays Angus' nerdy little friend who is dedicated to helping them both look cooler and get the attention of girls. And we can't forget Kathy Bates, Angus' loving, protective trucker mother who is usually arguing with her father, played by George C. Scott. Charlie Talbert, who I had never heard of when I fist saw this movie, was PHENOMENAL as Angus! He's so natural...he pulled off the comedy, embarrassment, anger, frustration, obsession and heart-break that Angus goes through like a well-seasoned actor. Usually if a film has corny acting (which lets face it, there's plenty of THOSE kinds of movies out there) I usually won't sit through it the first time, let alone a second. This is a movie, I am happy to say, that I have been watching for over a decade and never get sick of. If you've never seen it, give it a chance. You may just LOVE IT!

I love this movie! It's been a feel-good classic since its release. I use it in my classroom and students still enjoy it. My only drawback is the use of a few curse words.
