I have always prayed this prayer after receiving Christ in Holy Communion. Reading this book has given me more understanding of what I pray and has made me more united to Christ.

Deo gratias! Mother Mary Francis, for sharing your inspired reflections on this beautiful prayer. What is the Soul of Christ and how does it sanctify us? What are we truly asking when we say, 'Water from Thy side Cleanse me'? Do we understand how His Passion is to Comfort us? With surprising clarity, this little book reveals the true meaning of this mystical prayer and challenges us, now enlightened, to sincerely seek from God the bold petitions therein. I keep this book with me all the time and find cause to refer to it often, for the lessons of it are too deep to be absorbed in just one... or even one hundred readings.

I have been reading this book slowly because it makes me stop and really reflect on what is written as well as how it applies to my life. This is a wonderful book that I highly recommend. Each chapter dives into one line of the prayer at a time, and you will never pray it the same again. Beautiful.

If you like the prayer, you will love the commentary this contemplative nun has given to us. This is a contemplative nun that has been forming souls in the way of discipleship and holiness. Beginning with more of a traditional translation of the words, she adds meaning to the prayer and then expounds on the meaning. If you have used this as a post-Communion prayer, as I have, you will find yourself bringing much more to this time of thanksgiving and meditation. Words like "sanctify me," "save me," "inebriate me" tend to place us more with the minds of the mystics.
