Book Description

Anna David never expected to end up a crazy cat lady. A successful author (Party Girl, Bought, Reality Matters, Falling For Me) and dating expert for numerous television shows (including The Today Show, The CBS Morning Show and G4’s Attack of the Show), David had every reason to imagine that at this point in her life, she’d be sharing her bed with a man and not two four-legged furballs. In Animal Attraction, the author that The New York Post credits with creating the subgenre “Chick Lit With a Message” shares the unusual journey she took from fun-loving party gal to obsessive cat mom (with the Instagram photos and YouTube videos to prove it). The result is an uproarious, poignant, and painfully honest tribute that’s sure appeal to pet (and people) lovers everywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am the Crazy Cat Man April 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I was home on a Friday night and I realized that Anna David had written an E-Book. I quickly downloaded it to my Kindle and I could not stop until I finished it. Anna David captures perfectly how we as pet owners feel connected to our pets
Pet owners are all animal lovers and our pets are a part of our family. However, as a man, I have always felt a bit embarrassed about the pure love that I have for my cats. I have been a cat owner for the past 23 years. All our cats were found in our backyard. Now, after reading this book "Animal Attraction" my feelings of embarrassment have been greatly reduced. Anna David, who is my all time favorite author was able to put into words how we feel about our pets, in my case our cats. By reading this book and having Anna share her own personal experiences about being a cat owner I can now proudly come forward and declare myself the "Crazy Cat Man" I am trying to write this review while my current cat , Midnight, is sitting on my lap. We cat owners have an extra special connection to our cats. People who do not have cats may never understand it. But please download this E-Book, Animal Attraction and read it. Anna David explains it much more effectively than I do.

Thank you Anna, for another awesome book. I am so happy to have read it and to add it to my collection

5.0 out of 5 stars funny and beautiful and insightful and brilliant April 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I've been a huge fan of Anna's ever since reading Falling For Me and then Party Girl and her articles for the Fix.com...Really, if you are familiar with her work, you know to expect compelling, insightful, deeply funny and deeply moving story telling, with writing that is as equally exciting, precise, and beautiful. Every word is exactly perfect and every description dead on. Honestly, her work reminds me of a contemporary, female Hemingway. There's nothing extranious, pretentious, or self conciously clever about her writing. Everything is there for a reason and everything moves the story forward. And the revelations she offers about her experience being human and with humanity as a whole, feel genuinely important, unique, and neccisary. This short book is really quit philisophical. It shows so much about the human condition--about love and loss and hope and joy. While always remaining fiercely funny and exceptionally entertaining. Seriously, she packs so much into this small book, it is humbling, and incredibly inspiring to read. As soon as it was over I found myself wanting to go back through and read it again. There are so many jewels within the text. If it wasn't a Kindle book, it would be drenched in highlighter fluid. It is absolutely brilliant. Now I'm just waiting for a Part 2...which, hopefully, will be coming soon. Alright, well, I hope my sincerity is coming through in this review. I've never actually written one of these things before. Okay...bye! n

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth reading February 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This seemed to me more like a high school essay on why the author likes cats...or how cats helped her get off drugs. Poorly edited and rife with spelling errors. And what about the last several pages? It seemed like she was writing a term paper stuffing it with obscure cat history to lengthen the book. At best, a poor attempt at rationalizing her drug past. She beat it to death. SORRY...

I related to the gal in the story. She loves her furry friends. And the time she went to the movies. That was so close to home for me. A delightful story iin general.
