"Animal Boy" is packed with witty, hummable, accessible, and outright delightful tunes. Matt is a terrific songwriter, story-teller, and a fine performer. The album captures some of that live magic, with songs about Walmart, drug-hazed college days, hungry kids, love, redemption, and stadium rock. I can think of lots of high concept descriptions ("Arlo Guthrie meets Paul Simon"), but really, Matt's musical voice is his own. My 9 year old loves this album- so does his 77 year old grandmother. 'Nuff said?

Having heard the titel track "Animal Boy" on my local alt radio station, Matt's vocals piqued my interest. Since I have purchased the CD, I can't seem to get enough of it. I especially like his quirky lyrics and the offbeat instrumentation. I've been listening it to it weekly now for about 2 months. At times, his music reminds me of early Matthew Sweet laced with a little Paul Simon-thoroughly enjoyable!

WOW! Saw/heard Matt making music magic in the Austin airport. After hearing him sing just one song, I asked if he had a CD for sale. I've been thrilled with it's every note. Refreshing and catchy! A great buy. Much success to you, Matt!
