Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

It will take every ounce of strength in you to actually send these cards, rather than hoarding them for yourself. Luckily, there are two copies of each of 12 devastatingly adorable images. And not in a cutesy way, either. An overalled frog leaps in delirious joy (froggy is also on the cover of the very handsome wood box containing the 24 cards and their envelopes). Two lanky geese stretch their looong necks over what could only be spilled peas. A feisty squirrel leaps over an avuncular bear in plaid trousers. We could go on and on, but then there might not be enough of these cards left for us...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wry, charming illustrations beautifully packaged, September 1, 2000
By
Janet Hawkins (Fayetteville, AR USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Animal Friends Postal Cards (Cards)
Two each of twelve wonderful postcards (with envelopes!) come packaged in a wooden gift box, but that's just the beginning. These illustrations are wry, fabulously funny, and artistically perfect. There's the sailor-suited crocodile whose large belly shelters a mouse-mate as they gaze stoically out to sea; a nattily dressed moose sharing a pine-tree branch with a befrocked owl; a bent-over bear with beautiful britches and a kindly expression whose back serves as the launch pad for an energetic squirrel...

Each animal character is dressed in clothing of impeccable taste and charm - apparently drawn from the illustrator's appreciation of fine German apparel - but there is also an Asian quality to the pattern and detail in these drawings.

You couldn't do better than to frame and hang these cards by a child's bedside...or an adult's for that matter. And then send the duplicates to anyone who appreciates fantastic illustration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Luscious cards, August 24, 2006
This review is from: Animal Friends Postal Cards (Cards)
These beautiful cards are printed on heavy card stock. Each is a wonderful piece of art a la Wolf Erlbruch's pleasing aesthetics. A bonus - you can send one of each and still have a complete set to enjoy. Set comes in a wooden box suitable for other treasures after the cards are gone. Fabulous gift item or exquisite note cards for personal use!
