We got these brightly colored puppets for our son when he was a newborn. He's now nearly 9 months. They were great to practice eye tracking with him. As he got older, he began to reach for them. Then, he learned to grab them and put them in his mouth. We've been giving him puppet shows throughout, which often make him giggle. It's a great way for a baby to learn the names of animals and the sounds they make. There all around the house and in the diaper bag, because they provide such great distractions. We give him one or two to hold when we take him out to eat, or one to hold in his stroller. Also, on the changing table, so that he will stop trying to roll over!
These puppets are great, because we can also put them in the washing machine, which we've done many times. I imagine that he'll keep on loving these puppets for years to come, and that he'll eventually be giving US puppet shows with them. There a great gift that will last through many stages of development. |
