FAVORITE BOOK, June 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Animal Homes (Barney) (Board book)
Even if you are not a fan of Barney, (most parents aren't) your child will LOVE this book. My daughter is 17 months old and can tell me what sound each animal on the farm makes. She loves lifting the flaps and discovering the animals behind them! Highly recommend!

Even if you don't like Barney, his books rule!, October 12, 2004
This review is from: Animal Homes (Barney) (Board book)
This is one of my 14 month-old's favorite books, and has been for about 6 months. Here's why we think it's great:
* The colors on the pages are bright and colorful;
* Each page only has 1-2 sentences, so it's perfect for short attention spans;
* The concepts are simple (some books try to teach too many concepts within one book... This one focuses on animals and their noises. That's it.);
* The lift-the-flaps hold his attention and promote learning. I think that when there's a bit of mystery involved (i.e., "what's behind that barn door???" that children truly learn more, because they wonder what's there, and then their question is answered.)
We have about 20 board books, but he only likes about 3 of them... All Barney books! It isn't (necessarily) Barney that he loves, the writer of these books simply knows how to talk to babies & toddlers.
