5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful photos of animals
"Animal House" is a wonderful book of animal photographs. They are set against unusual and fitting wallpaper and carpet backgrounds. See animals and birds close-up and personal. It's a great book for a gift - especially for animal-lovers.

I got the dog version of this book and liked it a lot more. There is only so much excitement seeing an animal infront of wallpaper.

4.0 out of 5 stars I love you, Armadillo., January 30, 2012
This review is from: Animal House (Hardcover)
The photographer who made this book had an artistic and eccentric well-off father who actually built a CRAZY house full of animals when she was a kid in New Orleans. (The blueprints are on the endpapers, which are perfect thing to have on endpapers.) "Stairs to Aviary" says part of the blueprints. Catherine's own bedroom had an entire wall of sliding glass doors that opened into the "Bunny Yard." Good grief. I want to live in a house without a single right angle and where animals are everywhere. Amy Sedaris has a bunny that roams her apartment freely, so why shouldn't I?

So those are the roots of her fascination with the juxtaposition of animals and man-made interiors. Lush carpeting looks great with a sheep. Intricate wallpaper looks fantastic with antlers. A fennec fox has never looked so spritely than when frolicking in front of spring flowers. The shyest armadillo ever is pretending to study the pattern of cream and yellow. Oh, I love him.
