Lions, giraffes, zebras, monkeys and more are represented in set from Italy. The chess pieces feature a variety of exotic creatures, from the regal lion "king" to whimsical zebra "knights," all made of Oxo-Teak (crushed alabaster) and hand-painted by Italian artisans. The board is crafted of birdseye maple and briarwood from Italy, this board is crafted with superior quality, it is a beautiful board to be left out on display with this beautiful Italian crafted chessmen set.

Chessmen are naturally heavy in weight with felted bottoms.
