A lyrical, sexy, playful journey.,

Naslund's novel about a young woman shedding her old skin of naivete struck a chord for me. I followed Trixie back into the '70s and saw myself growing from a wide-eyed virgin into a "woman of the world." Naslund's writing is startingly clean and crisp, and her ironic humor comes through with southern smoothness. She develops female characters who are delicate but don't tear and who become progressively stronger through the book. And her descriptions are so clear that I can smell, hear and taste them. A truly delicious read.
