4.0 out of 5 stars Killer old school hair metal
Atlanta's Mad Margritt is what you'd have to call an unrepentant hair metal band. They rock like it's 1987, and could care less if the rest of the world has long since moved on. I love this attitude. Instead of trying to stay current, they concentrate on making the kind of fun rock & roll records that brought me to rock in the first place.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent hard rock record from Mad Margritt
Mad Margritt released Animal in 2007. The band released a fairly solid record with Animal, however, my major complaint is it's only seven actual songs, and sometimes the production seems to suffer a little for whatever reason.

The songs on Animal are actually pretty decent. My favorite from the bunch being I Don't Think I Love You, however, Animal and Loaded...

Animal is the band's 2007 album, and it has everything you could want from a hair metal album. There are incredible guitar hooks, memorable melodies, and the kind of rock anthems you can't help but sing along with. Vocalist Eddie Smith has a great Jani Lane meets Sebastian Bach voice, and he's just as impressive live as he is on this album. My favorite tracks on this album are the monster rockers Animal and Loaded Gun, and the ultra-melodic Don't Say a Word and Ruling Me, but honestly the whole album is great.

If you grew up on bands like Ratt, Skid Row, Warrant, Dokken, and Cinderella and still love this kind of music, you need to check out this album and see what Mad Margritt is all about. Given the state of today's popular music, discovering a band like Mad Margritt is like finding water in the desert.

I happened to stumble across a used copy of Mad Margritt's NEW SENSATION CD and I am glad I did. I purchased the rest of their CDs and I really enjoy them all. ANIMAL is hard rock music with an 80s/contemporary feel and the songs are great and have excellent lyrical content. Don't miss out on this one!!

The songs on Animal are actually pretty decent. My favorite from the bunch being I Don't Think I Love You, however, Animal and Loaded gun are not too far behind. I do have to point out, some of the tracks sound like filler. It's no knock on the band, but when you only have seven songs to chose from, every song gets more scrutinized.

I would recommend this album to any fan of hard rock music, just remember there's only seven songs, and some tend to fall into the filler catergory.
