Hurray! This breathtaking album is a must-have for your Christmas collection. The brilliance of Jimmy Webb's songwriting, the soaring vocals of Art Garfunkel and Amy Grant, and the terrific production of Geoff Emerick come together beautifully in this masterpiece. How wonderful that the album has been re-released for our listening pleasure.

I just found a CD copy of The Animal's Christmas on eBay, after wearing out my cassette tape of this wonderful Christmas music. I can't imagine why this CD is out of print and why it isn't performed around the country on an annual basis. This beautiful, ancient Christmas story is told from the very unique perspective of the animals.

The previous reviewer was referring to "Words from an Old Spanish Carol", just one of the many songs that can bring a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye.

This classical Christmas music moves the soul. The combination of Amy Grant and Art Garfunkel along with the harmony of the boy's choir is breathtaking!

Tonight I dug out my well worn copy of "The Animal's Christmas" by Jimmy Webb (Garfunkel and Grant). I've owned the tape since '96 and have nearly worn it out. While it's something I MUST hear at Christmas time, it's also music I reach for year round whenever I want a lift. The music, for me, is the type that causes my spirits to soar. Hauntingly beautiful, masterfully rendered...I cannot recommend it highly enough! Art Garfunkel and Amy Grant were perfect choices for this collection. Their voices interwoven with the young choir voices produces a sound that is both joyous and heartbreaking. I am delighted to find it available on a CD and can't wait to add it to my collection. I don't know how much longer my tape could last. ;)

Each time I hear this music I think of what a tremendous Christmas production it could be with a children's choir and very simple sets and costuming. MUSIC TEACHERS- While I've no idea what the costs might be to obtain the rights, it would be TERRIFIC and a wonderful gift to any community in which it was staged.

I have been looking for this cd for a decade it seems... Thisalbum is one of the best ever made. The mixture of talent isphenomonal! The Annunciation is one of my favourite pieces as well as Increadible Phat. As much as I love Amy's solo Christmas album - only Michael W. Smith's Christmas album can begin to capture the majesty of the Miracle of Christ's Birth. Please, please, please, treat yourself to this magnificent recording!

Jimmy Webb is one of the most prolific writers of our time and when it came to pen a Christmas album, it was done with passion and wit. Art Garfunkel is in top form and handles the material with great care. Amy Grant, of whom I was not a fan, has something more than a cameo here on An Animals Christmas. This is a must buy album for Christmas, without being cheesy and it doesnt have the old "classics" we get to hear in every mall in America during Christmas. You will be able to pluck out this album in July if you want and feel that Webb has dug his own groove for the Messiah's birthday.

Have been looking for this magnificent cd for years. Now that it has been re-released this month, I'm thrilled to be able to purchase it. It brings the true meaning to Christmas right into your home.

This has been the most-played Christmas album in our home for many years, the first one we listen to when we pull out the old albums each holiday season. The Carol Of The Birds is just plain gorgeous. Treat yourself to this music.

This is a uniquely amazing and beautiful composition by Jimmy Webb that will leave you feeling exalted and thrilled to hear time after time!

A rare gem not to be missed in your Christmas playlist. Excellent!!

I remember watching Amy Grant's Christmas special where this was performed when I was a teen. I fell in love with it. My whole family did. Beautifully written and performed. Really brings the folk legends about the Christmas story alive. Tied with another album as my all-time must listen to every Christmas! It wouldn't be Christmas without it.
