This review is from: Animals and Habitats Mats (Cards)
This is always a big hit in my classroom. Kids love animals, and habitat is a concept that is sadly falling out of the curriculum as reading and math get pushed. However, this one is great for teaching kids the names of animals as they match the image-correct piece to the correct word. So there you go. Animal names taught.
The habitats themselves are extremely diverse. I was pleased with that. I couldn't think of a single basic habitat they missed. Even the local park is considered a habitat. The illustrations are lovely, and the back of each mat includes a bonus activity where animals can be sorted. Loved it. Nice thick pieces, sturdy enough for small hands, and a great activity. |
