This is the best pop up book I have ever seen. Amazing effects, eye-popping art. I give it over and over as gifts to the under 10 set. The pop-up effects are so complex that they do not stand up well to toddlers pulling them apart, so be may not be great for younger kids.

The cover of this book somehow looked "dated", but I took a chance my 4 year old nature fan would like it anyway. And does he! The illustrations in this book are bright and detailed, there are a bunch of pop-ups and pull-tabs, some that make animals move in great ways! (The frog hops, the cricket actually chirps, etc.) The variety of animals in such a small book is terrific. This is a good book for your child's library.

"Animals Showing Off" is a wonderful introduction to the world of animals, especially for preschoolers-lower grade levels. The format is interactive and engaging, with lift the tab features, pull the flaps, and of course, the amazing, vibrant full-color pop-ups of animals, such as a bright red cockatoo, a frilled lizard, colorful frogs, a brilliant peacock, and many more. We were lucky to have found this book at a library book sale, but I would highly recommend it. This is so thoughtfully and beautifully put-together that children will want to read it over and over again!

This pop-up book out does all others I have seen. This book was given to me when I was a small child, 23 years ago and I still have it!! I am honestly not in to books, but this book is really wonderful and is one of the few I actually held on to. The pop-up books of today do not even compare to this one. There is also a Dinosaurs book that came out the same year -1988, it is equally as good. Both are highly reccomended!
