More About the Author

Sheila Graber'art teaching has influenced generations of pupils encouraged by her concept that "Everyone is an Artist".
In 1980 she became a full time professional animator. Her work , whether animated or still images reflect her love of teaching and of life.
"The Twelve Days of Christmas" makes the purrfect Xmas Gift, Dusty's Diary is there to help small children learn about Feral Families. "My Tyneside" relates a personal story via painting and drawings created by Sheila from the age of 11 to 64. Although a local story, the journey is of Universal significance too!

Packed with beautiful images taken from the series she animated for world TV in the 1980's we know for a FACT that kiddies love them.Great bedtime reading either by you or by themselves!

Format: Paperback
Sheila Graber's book `Animation - A handy guide' is both welcome and timely. The book is a guide, as against a manual, and approaches the subject conceptually and historically so that the reader gets a feeling for the ideas that animation is best suited to, and importantly, the fun of animating for its own sake; anyone who has taught children to animate will know the delight and amazement they find in seeing their first attempts work. The book is well and profusely illustrated, and presented in a conversational way that is easy to read and understand. Though stating that it is aimed at professionals, students, and total beginners, my guess is the market is more likely to be in education as animation is now regarded and an `enabling skill' along with literacy and numeracy. I would recommend this book to anyone starting out in animation, but also to teachers exploring new ideas, and media professionals who need to get a broad understanding of animation applications and techniques for use in their own field of work.
