Rachel, Jake, Cassie, and Marco really come to life!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Animorphs: Shattered Reality (PS1) (Video Game)
It's great. Although it is a platform game that is basically side-scrolling (very little 3-D action) it is really fun. But I guess you have to be a fan of the best-selling book series to get into it and understand it. But it's great. The voices are great and the animation is great. They got the morphs down packed and K.A. Applegate should be proud. I love the game.

Animorphs,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Animorphs: Shattered Reality (PS1) (Video Game)
First of all I love the Animorphs books. Though I didn't like the way it ended. I read all of them. I did love all the action and comedy that was told very well. I loved the fact that there was going to be a video game. I was worried that it would be like the TV show which I thought was terrible. It thankfully was like the books. Great animation in the movies. They showed what before I could only see in my mind. It also showed hork-bajar tougher than andalites fixing a problem with the books. The levels had good graphics. They were fun and chalenging with lots of action. Now for the problems with the game. You didn't get to play as Ax or Tobias. There were not enough levels and they all took place on earth. Many of the aliens you fight never were in the books and made no sense. The biggest problem is you can't morph at will. The game morphs for you. Why are you always jumping around as a human instead of morphing bird.

A Kid's Review

As a fan of the animorphs book series I was a bit disappointed with the new animorphs game for playstation<shattered reality>.Although the game kept the player interested it didn't quite give justice to the animorphs story and lacked a certain ingredient to make the game complete.I was disappointed to find out that the player could not choose when they wanted to morph. The graphics were good though.Although it wasn't as good as I had expected I still enjoyed playing it and would not discourage anyone from buying it.I encourage buyers to get information on the game and understand what it includes before purchasing it in a hope that future buyers will not be disappointed if it doesn't have what they thought.

This game has gotten much better! It was exciting, and had better music by the fourth level, extremely scary (as I'm into scary stuff) by the sixth,(beware the fifth is pretty hard)and by the fourth environment of the seventh level, not only does it make you feel like you were back in old times,or on an extremely huge mountain, the music there was so good,I just had to get eighth.I would recommend Animorphs:Shattered Reality to anyone.

Not A Game That Gives Fun People Want,

The moment I got this game and started to play it, I knew right then that they didn't do the best they could to make this a successful game. First of all: The graphics are off, I have to admit that they did give it a good 3-d picture, but all it is is a game where you are watching from the side view looking RIGHT at your person. Second: You can only be 4 of the 6 characters. These include: Jake, Cassie, Rachel, and Marco. If they want a game to be a good one, let all of the characters be optional. Third: You go by lives and tiny coins. I don't think that K.A. Applegate wanted to use coins. Fourth: When you use all of your lives, you see a short picture of Ax getting a Yeerk in his ear. Ax isn't in the game! Another thing is that you can only be one animal. Such as Rachel is a bear. Jake a tiger. Marco: hah! Not real. He gets a rhino. Cassie as a HUGE wolf. the 2 4 6 levels is when you get to be either a dragonfly, bat, or dolphin. That's it. Overal I rate this game two stars merely because the graphics are good. Otherwise, I think that GT Interactive (the maker of this game) should get a different idea.

This game is BAD. No kidding, no mincing words. The graphics are annoying when there is a fight sequence and all you do is wander around collecting coins (hello...haven't we moved beyond that by now?) What a waste of time. Don't even consider buying this lame game.

Let's wind the clock back to the year 2000. This kind of stuff was generaly new. it was what people wanted. people were happy with this kind of game. eventualy, the books died out, and, like a firework, the once impressive book and video game was out-shined by a new and brigher franchise, until it was compleatly forgoten and left on shelves to gather dust.
Somware along 2006, i picked up the long dead books and started to read them. in 2007, I started collecting the series, very much interested in this actient history. in 2008, i had them all, along with the megamorphs and the elimist chronicles. to compleate my collection, i wanted the games, and ordered shattered reality. and was dissipointed, to say the least. i didn't exspect much, but it compleatly sucked. it's graphics and gameplay belong on a gameboy, not a PS2. |
