5.0 out of 5 stars One of Nashville's most talented artists!, June 25, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Anita (Audio CD)
The second release from the multi-talented songwriter/lead guitarist/singer Anita Cochran is one of those albums that is great to listen to on long drives. I just saw this girl perform at Fan Fair 2000 in Nashville--she is the real deal kids! She sounds even better live. Anita has her licks down on the guitar and her voice and songwriting are just as impressive. You don't have to skip tracks on this release as every song is a gem. This is one artist destined for stardom. Go out now and get this release.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!, June 19, 2000

This CD is excellent! Anita has this great husky voice that makes you want to sing along with her songs. It's just a likable CD. I had never heard of her and while I was flipping radio stations I heard part of Good Times (the first song on the CD) it caught my ear so I listened and I really liked it. The entire CD is quite catchy and you'll be singing along in no time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anita Cochran Rocks Her Country!, September 28, 2000

Anita Cochran has really come of age with this CD. I liked her first, but this one really rocks! There is not a bad track on this CD. Her voice has that strong country quality that some other artists lack. If you like your country modern & pure this is the CD for you. If there had of been a six star rating, I would have given it to this CD!Track two, Let the Guitar do the Talking is my favorite.

4.0 out of 5 stars Anita Deserved More Airtime, June 14, 2007
This review is from: Anita (Audio CD)
I don't think I've ever heard Anita on the radio, and that's just too bad. She shoulda been bigger. She can sing, her voice has a quality that's great for doing country music. She also plays the guitar. She's a real musician. I woulda given this 5 stars except for it's got a lot of slow ballads that are, at least to me, kinda boring. Anita shoulda weighted this heavier to the uptempo side. I think she's the best female singer of country/rock I've heard. Here are some songs:

Good Times - fun uptempo number. The singing and guitars have attitude

Let the Guitar do the Talkin' - another hard-charging, uptempo number. Anita charms a redneck bar and a handsome guy with her musical prowess. I can believe it.

Last Kiss - a slower tune, but not real slow. A good romantic tune.

For Crying Out Loud

Living My Life Now - returns to uptempo

God Created Woman - man has been changed by woman.

Very good CD. Coulda been truly great except that there is too much slow, rather boring stuff. To a person who likes slow ballads, that won't be an impediment and that person should totally love this album

5.0 out of 5 stars Anita, February 13, 2007

This is a great CD with nothing but good songs and at least five outstanding ones. I particularly like "What I Leave Behind", "Thanks For Reading My Mind", "That's Not What I Said", "You With Me", and "Every Time It Rains". She reminds me a little of Wynonna on some songs and delivers a ballad with naturalness and simplicity.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best modern country singers, September 15, 2002

This review is from: Anita (Audio CD)
Anita is not a big star but ought to be, judged on her two albums. She writes or co-writes most of her own songs, she plays the guitar extremely well and she sings like an angel.

This album is a lovely mix of uptempo, rocking songs and slower, more reflective songs. The album opens with the rocking Good times, in which Anita expresses a desire to have a good time after working hard and doing a lot of overtime. By contrast, there is the very sad That's not what I said, about a relationship breaking down because of the man not listening to what the woman is saying.

Anita expresses an odd viewpoint in God created woman, claiming that Alexander Bell only invented the telephone so that his wife could ring when she wanted him home. Really? Where did Anita get that idea from?

Despite (or maybe because of) Anita's unusual perspective on life, this is a magnificent album of contemporary country, which rocks in places and every song is wonderful.
