I recommend this book to everyone that I can find! It is wonderful in that it gives the reader the imagination to look at the Bible as more than something to guide your life spiritually, but figure out a way to make the people in the pages (who you have very little information on) and they come to life. I appreciate the author for giving us this creative license to start to believe that each and every one of them could be human, much as us.

The Red Tent,
This review is from: Anita Diamant's The Red Tent: A Reader's Guide (Continuum Contemporaries) (Paperback)
This remains, for me, one of the best books I've ever read. It was moving and so real and I felt that time was transcended as I read how the women took care of each other in ancient days. The ending moved me beyond words. Dinah's life was one to be remembered. Ms. Diamant's story telling is a believable account of how life must have been for the women in the days of the New Testament.

The Powerful Women of our Past,

This was a great read, I had bought it about a year ago and never actualy read it.
Went on a road trip this summer, read it in three days. I could not put it down the story had me enraptured by the world that Dinah lived in, that I had to follow her to the end. It shows a side of biblical times that has gone untold for too long. It is good to see the strength of women in times where stories of women went untold.

An excellent book, especially for young women to learn others' ideas to help one be mentally aware and emotionally secure with regards to one's own body.
