Quality Item, April 9, 2009
This is a well made and solid item. Having said that, there are a couple of things you should consider before you purchase this mat. First, it is 3/4" high and could possibly be in the way of a door on a desk unit. You'll end up removing the door as we did. Second, it may cause the arms on a desk chair to hit a slide out keyboard shelf on a desk unit.
Again, this is a quality product. We are very satisfied with it after buying numerous plastic chair mats over the years. Just make sure it will fit in your application.

Fantastic..who would have thought a wood chair mat?, December 5, 2009
This review is from: Anji Mountain Bamboo Chairmat & Rug Co. Tri-Fold Bamboo Chairmat, 47-Inch-by-60-Inch, 12mm Thick, No Lip, Natural (Lawn & Patio)
Finding this product was a complete accident. Looking for a standard [plastic] chair mat, I saw this item and felt I'd give it a try. Wow, what a good move.
Most "normal" chair mats invariably end up with depressions where your chair sits, and the chair always wants to sink into that spot. In addition, the soft plastic ones will not remain flat. Edges will curl up and it will look like heck.
Enter the bamboo mat. Looks great. Chairs roll smoothly. Easy to clean. The tri-fold makes it very easy to maneuver into place if you desk space is a little tight. Some may complain that the mat is 1 inch thick. However, the edges are tapered so moving a chair onto it is no big deal.
Overall, this is a GREAT product!

Nice hard mat, June 26, 2009

I've tried a lot of those plastic chairmats but even the thickest of them get mangled. My carpet is too thick under my desk chair. This Anji Mountain hardwood mat is great. It's almost an inch thick and holds my heavy weight up with no problems. It does move but I would say it doesn't go more than a few inches in a week and is light enough to put back in place with ease. I was worried that it wasn't going to be worth the money but it certainly is.
