My home office floor is carpeted so rolling my desk chair is a bit tough. This mat really helps a lot, but over time, a depression has developed in the middle where the chair sits most of the time. I will say this mat is far superior to a plastic mat on carpet, however, since those develop depressions under each chair castor making it hard to get the chair moving. This mat doesn't have that problem, but isn't as stiff as I wish it were. Considering it is a roll-up mat, it is very sturdy though and is the best solution I've found for moving my chair with ease over the carpet. After two years of regular use, it is a bit scuffed up, but still looks good and still does the job.

This large size is good if you need to move around to filing cabinets and printers. The projection in front keeps the chair from rolling off the mat when it is pushed up close to the desk. That's important because when the chair is partly rolled off the mat, it's not easy to get it back on if the chair is heavy and you can't do it at all while you're seated. The `step up' onto the mat when it's on carpet is almost half an inch. The mat is not that thick, but the pile of the carpet and the roll-up structure of the mat tends to raise the edges a bit.

I recommend the mat highly for use on a hard floor surface that one is trying to protect and with reservations for use on padded carpet. In that setting, it isn't perfect but better than the alternatives I've tried so far.

This is a terrific product. It looks beautiful, and it's much easier to use than the plastic office chair mats. A chair on rollers moves easier, and it's easy to transport from one room to another. The light colored mat blends beautifully with oak floors. Get the dark mat only if you have very dark wood floors or want a dramatic contrast.

Not only is this wood mat functional but it has improved the look of our entire little office. It's easy to clean and very durable.

Bamboo Roll-up chair mats are the the best investment ever. We have the one pictured 55" x 57" for my husband's office and a light oak smaller version for my office. They really look sharp. They last longer than the clear vinyl mats with sharp points on the back that keep them from slipping. Over time, the vinyl mats crack and chip. The bamboo roll-up chair mats have a felt-like backing on them that keeps them put on your carpet. AND, they roll up! Have you ever been stabbed by the hard plastic spikes on the backs of the vinyl mats? They hurt and are clumsy to move and manage. You will be impressed with the quality and comfort of the Bamboo Roll-Up Chair Mats!!!

The mat blends in well with the wooden floor and is quite attractive. The chair rolling on it is quiet. The mat was a little too big for the space, but since the bamboo slats fold tightly, it was very easy to adjust. Perfectly satisfied.

I have had this mat in dark cherry for a little over a year. I am a full-time teleworker and graduate student, so I am in my office at least 10 hours a day. The best feature of this mat is that my chair rolls easily on it, even on a pile carpet. I don't have any depressions in the mat that other reviewers have complained about. However, I am not happy with the quality.

This is a beautiful mat, and I wanted to preserve its appearance, since previous mats from other manufacturers I have owned have split. I bought a set of polyurethane casters which are indicated for hardwood floors, but after a year, the slats have split just like the cheaper mats I had bought in the past.

There is only a 90 day limited warranty, so there is nothing that can be done at this point. I think the issue might be the pile carpet, but the product is advertised for this use. I read a warning either in the instructions or online about nylon casters, hence the purchase of the poly ones.

Overall, I love the mat, but I wish it had lasted longer. I wonder if it would help to put something solid under it...

We needed a hard surface chair mat to go over a wood floor.

This mat was better and sturdier than we expected, and is exactly what we wanted.

The only minus is that I discovered Costco sells the exact same mat for about $20 less. However, Amazon delivered it to our door, so that's worth something.

This is an excellent chair mat for hardwood floors. It has a nice felt backing and rolls out for placement very easily. It holds up great and looks amazing! I love it!

We purchased a plastic floor mat for the computer chair. After having to push off to move the chair into position, it was decided there must be a better solution. We found the solution......the Roll-Up Bamboo Chairmat. Thought it was a bit pricey but after using it, feel the price is justified. It's great to sail up to the computer with no push off necessary. Great product.

I bought two of these for my home office. They arrived promptly and in good condition. They look nice on my wood laminate floors and seem durable.
