A Trip Down Memory Lane....,
By Rave Till Dawn Jorge "Trance Addict" (Miami, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anjunabeats 100 + From Goa to Rio (Audio CD)
Let me start off by saying that this new release is not what I was expecting, and that was a next volume to either the popular Anjunabeats series or even to the Anjunabeats Worldwide series. You get neither on this release. Instead this is more of a greatest hits complilation that the Anjunabeats Label has had it's hand in. To some people this might be a major let down if you were expecting new material, but as for myself, I liked siting back and remembering some classic trance tunes from 2000 till 2007.I can see some reviewers giving this a lower rating, but IMO I cant bring myself to giving this a lower rating. The track selection is flawless and though some of the tracks may be outdated to some, I have no problem remembering the feeling I had when I first heard some of these tracks. A good example for me is OceanLab's "Sky Falls Down". One of my alltime favorites and I'm sure you will all have a bit of the same feeling as well. Here's the tracklisting Disc 1 Cara Dillon vs 2 Devine - Black Is The Colour Super8 & Tab - Helsinki Scorchin' Above & Beyond - No One On Earth Boom Jinx feat. Key - Eternal Reminiscence Tranquility Base - Razorfish Alt + F4 - Alt + F4 OceanLab - Beautiful Together Sunny Lax - P.U.M.A. Rush & Murray - Epic Daniel Kandi - Child P.O.S. - Summer Sun Nitrous Oxide - North Pole Aalto - Rush OceanLab - Satellite Super8 - Alba Above & Beyond - Alone Tonight Disc 2 Anjunabeats - Volume One David West feat. Andreas Hermansson - Larry Mountains 54 Above & Beyond vs Andy Moor - Air For Life Aalto - 5 Maor Levi - Reflect Signalrunners - Aria Epica Luminary - Amsterdam Endre - Kallocain OceanLab - Clear Blue Water Smith & Pledger - Believe Nitromethane - Time To Die Above & Beyond pres. Tranquilty Base - Surrender OceanLab - Sky Falls Down Jono Grant vs Mike Koglin - Circuits Matt Hardwick vs Smith & Pledger - Day One There you go. I hope the tracklisting helps. Oh! Before I forget, the DVD is really nothing to write home about. It's about 45 mins long and the full description of it is in the comments section. Overall it's not a bad deal for 15 bucks to get 2 CD's AND a DVD.

Its a Compilation!,

This review is from: Anjunabeats 100 + From Goa to Rio (Audio CD)
Above and Beyond releases Anjunabeats 100 as a COMPILATION of the best of the FIRST 100 tracks that their amazing label has releases since its inception. It is stange that some people are dissapointed that no new material is released. It is obvious that they did not read their press release as for the reason of this new cd compilation. A good buy for people that want a bunch of amazing singles, that have PREVIOUSLY been released. So, if you already own the tracks, its probably best to skip this one, and if not, get it, after all, it is their milestone album.

Some of the best Trance Music compilations out there,
By
This review is from: Anjunabeats 100 (Audio CD)
I can keep this simple, Above & Beyond are extremely well known (for those who listen to trance & melodic/trance). This is simply a great compilation of 30 of their best songs (chosen by them however, it is not a "fan-favorite" or anything). For those of you who know them, I highly recommend this if you do not own most of their separate work already. Otherwise, this is a very fast and easy way to acquire some of their best work without buying $100 worth of albums. For those of you who do not know them, except rich melodic trance and regular trance/dance music. The beats are loud and original, the (female) vocals are entrancing and melodic, and overall, it is just a great value for money. This is a great place to start your trance collection, and start with some of the best. If not, look into Armin Van Buuren or Tiesto, the two main known artists of the genre.
