Product Description

Introduction
Transfer your data faster than ever with the premium quality Uspeed USB 3.0 card reader. With 4 card slots and an attractive square-form design, this fast multi-card reader is the only one you'll need to support your daily data transfer needs and your diverse collection of memory cards.

Card Compatibility
SDXC (up to 2TB), SDHC, SD, CF, High-Speed CF(UDMA), MS, M2, Micro SDXC, Micro SDHC , Micro SD; Backward compatible with USB 2.0 / 1.1

System Requirements
Windows 2000 / ME/ XP / Vista / 7 / 8 (32bit/ 64bit ), MAC OS 10.X or later version, Macintosh computer with USB support

PLEASE NOTE
Users using older versions of Windows XP or Mac OS X may need to install operating system upgrades / patches to support the exFAT file system of many high capacity cards of 64GB or higher.

Data transfer rates are subject to the speed of the memory card itself. With the Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader, you can fully enjoy the transfer rates of current high speed cards formats: SDXC, Micro SDXC, high-speed CF(UDMA), UHS-I, and high-speed MS (HX).

To properly insert a CF card, please ensure proper orientation by confirming that the side grooves are facing / aligned with the dock ridges. Then, gently push the card straight in toward the pins until the card is fully seated.

Most readers will prevent the card from being wrongly inserted by using a sufficiently long guide to achieve alignment. The pins on this one are 1/8" below the entrance. CF cards have two groves on the edges that you insert in to the case. One grove is slightly larger than the other, but if you have the card turned around, you can still insert the card sufficiently to bend the pins. Even with proper orientation, you still have to "feel" the alignment of pins to CF plug holes.

I knew about the proper alignment (no documentation with the product!) from my engineering background. Even with this knowledge I didn't "feel" the alignment, and subsequently bent two pins!

Once a pin gets bent, you've had it.

Further advice:

I would like to revise my previous assessment of this product in lieu of the support group's comments and actions. Basically, the product has traded off safety in use in favor of small product size. As a result, the product presents a couple of vulnerabilities. While each can damage the unit, both can be mitigated through proper and careful use.

1) the product is susceptible to debris getting into the card ports. Therefore, it is important to keep it in a small bag for storage and/or transport.

2) Secondly, CF cards are particularly dangerous to the unit if inserted incorrectly because the connector pins are only 1/8" below the outer casing, thereby limiting "self-alignment" of the card during entry. CF cards have two alignment groves on either edge of the card. One grove is small and one is much larger. The reader has correspondingly wide and narrow ridges on either side.

I needed a CF 3.0 card reader. I am a photographer and a 3.0 card reader was suppose to speed up my processing time. This one broke after only a few months of use. But, it was outside the return window so I am stuck with it. One of the pins broke and now I cannot stick the card in. I do not recommend this product for people who need CF readers.

UPDATE: After I submitted the above review, the company quickly emailed me asking if I want a replacement. I said no since I had already replaced it with another brand. Instead, I asked for a refund. They said that they would contact amazon so that can issue me a refund. I was very impressed with their quick and polite service.

Just keep in mind that if the LED is RED you are still using USB2, if the LED is GREEN you are using USB3

When traveling a lot of people take their cameras and laptop with them to capture photos of their memories and of the sights they have visited. This Superspeed USB 3.0 multi-card reader lets them download their photos onto their hard drive or burn a CD/DVD to make sure that their photos do not get lost. This device is compatible with any computer that has a USB port.

It will hold the following styles of memory sticks:
MS - memory stick such as the Sony style (multiple variations)
SD - Secure digital memory card (multiple variations)
M2/T-F -micro SD flash (multiple variations)
CF - 40 Pin Compact Flash

When I plugged the card reader into my tower computer port it was instantly recognized by Windows 7 Professional and loaded its drivers immediately. I had three types of cards plugged in and all three popped up in separate windows almost instantly. The memory sticks I used all had the product labels pointing upwards towards the face of the card reader when plugged in properly. There is a green LED light on the top of the card reader that lights up when the reader in plugged into the USB port indicating that it is powered up.

Please note that the limiting factor on the card reading speed is the type of memory that you are using. Only the SDXC, Micro SDXC and high-speed CF (CF+/CF 2.0/CF3.0/CF4.0/CF4.1 standard) cards can reach the speed of USB 3.0 at the present. All memory cards will be read based upon the speed of the card's design and the type of USB port you have on your computer.
Pros:
* Small and light weight
* Nicely designed
* Loads quickly into Windows 7 and compatible with Windows 2000/ ME/ XP/ Vista/ Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit operating systems).
* Compatible with Mac OS 10.

I bought this to test and see if they built in card reader on my Asus G74SX was slower or faster than the Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader. My test results were PRETTY IMPRESSIVE! I have a SanDisk Ultra 32 GB SDHC Class 10 Flash Memory Card 30MB/s SDSDU-032G-U46 and it transferred at a STEADY 34MB/s TO MY Laptop's 480GB SSD Corsair 480 GB Force Series GT SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive - CSSD-F480GBGT-BK. The built in reader on my laptop goes at a steady 26MB/s speeds! I've been transferring TONS and TONS of GB's worth of footage from my Canon 60D to my Laptop's SSD at 26MB/s for MONTHS and MONTHS now! NOW, I can transfer at 34MB/s!!!! That's like 8MB/s FASTER than my Laptop's card reader. DO THE MATH, I'll be saving time from here on out, by using this USB 3.0 Card Reader, INSTEAD OF the one in my laptop! Now if you have the 45MB/s version of my card SanDisk Extreme 32 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 45MB/s SDSDX-032G-AFFP (mine claims 30MB/s), you would NOT see ANY increase in speed using your laptops built in reader, BUT if you use this adapter, YOU WILL get that extra 15MB/s speed difference!

Long Story Short: THIS ADAPTER IS FREAKING AMAZING! I put a video on YouTube showing it off (Amazon only lets you upload a 10 Minute video, UNDER 100MB. My video on YouTube is 1080p and over 2GB) Just look for "Uspeed USB 3.0 Superspeed Card Reader Unboxing, Setup, and Speed Test!" or just search "wwjoshdew" and it's my latest video as of writing this review (November 27th, 2012)
